Weather location code invalid due to Hyphen(-)

ObjectDock weather returns error when entering locations with hyphens

I am trying to access the weather in Russia in a town called "Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk". This works fine in ForecastFox which also uses AccuWeather so the place is monitored and recorded on global weather thingy's.

Any chance of providing a patch or updating the code for this Docklet to allow a hyphen or dash "-" in the location box???

It would be appreciated and would allow other towns with the same prob to be used.....

It works OK here... it shows your temperature as 41ºF

Try entering it explicitly as this:

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia (Sakhalin)

Also check back during different times of the day. We have been trying to track down the random issue where at different times it functions correctly where at others it simply doesn’t. We would love to hear any additional info we can about this.

huh. I tried a copy/paste and got "Please enter in a valid location"

Tried various options (spaces, no spaces, etc) only way it took it was: " Yuzhno Sakhalinsk, Russia " but then I got 'feed not available'

Using OD Freeloader ver 1.90 build 534

Same here, the location works fine. And it looks like you get snow come Tues, yuck.

All I can think is a routing station error in your area. When you can't connect can you connect to other locations around the country? Try semi obscure places. Also try major world cities like New York, London, and Tokyo.

Bichur: Are you able to view other locations OK?

yep

have tried others that some had posted when there were issues first cropping up - I didn't run into any probs.

my zip works fine

whenever I put the hyphen in from the location above I get the invalid messg

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia (Sakhalin) = invalid
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia = invalid
Yuzhno Sakhalinsk, Russia (Sakhalin) = invalid
Yuzhno Sakhalinsk, Russia = feed not available

Thanks for all your replies guys. I basically get the exact same responses as Bichur. All my other locations are the same. The invalid response happens instantaneously where as the feed not available happens quite a bit more slowly.....

I tried this right now and got a good results:

I don't know how the Object Dock works and where it get the weather forecast. I just entered this location into the WeatherLab: WWW Link

Best Regards.

I checked all. The Object Dock I have installed (version 1.90.026) works with AccuWeather.com. Your location is absent in the list of cities so you may not get the weather forecast for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

The other Weather Tools works with www.weather.com where this city is available.

Try entering just Sarajevo.  The docklet resolved that for me (in Houston TX)
