This sorta defeats the purpose of the MVL, it was founded to give players some way to compete without a general huge empre score.

The empire itself neither adds nor diminishes anything from one's submitted scores. Since all rounds are based on an individual game, standardized for all members, the overall character score and the empire ranking means nothing.

The MVL Empire only allows the commissioner and the vice-commissioner an easier tool in checking submitted games for a round.

That being said, the MVL Empire actually has a good chance of quickly climbing the imperial ranks due to the high amount of game submissions it should receive. While higher scores will result in faster jumps in rank for a character or empire, continual submissions will also greatly increase one's standings, even if the scores themselves are not stellar.

I stuck my league character in. I think it is just a convienence for the score keepers to have at least most of the league characters in one place and with the league setup I don't think we have to worry about this empire becoming a scoring monster . If you later leave the league you can always take you character back out.

I agree with Silverbeacher that this empire is really merely a convenience to have most MVL players listed in one place. I don't think that this empire will become like a regular empire. People will still identify with their teams more than any empire.

Also, as I mentioned in one thread or the other, having all MVL players in one empire would probably help make it easier to incorporate MVL results into a pretty display within the AltMeta. This is a topic that we should begin to discuss soon. Kryo expressed the willingness to do this but we must have a solid definition of precisely what it is we want to do before he starts any coding.

You may be wondering about my own character - which is a mix of MVL games and others.
I am not being an example here - but when I played my game (nearly a month ago now) - I hadn't totally grasped the concept of multiple characters myself yet. For round 4 there will definitely be a new butter character that is league only.

I will then remove the_butter_flies from my own empire (because scoring is not the main purpose of it).

i hope everyone realizes there is nothing bad about it if the MV Empire does reach the Top 10, which it should. The submittal of a minimum 20-30 games a month, even if low scores, will quickly make it rise in rank.

In all reality, the empires, and the game too, were never supposed for those that just know how to play for points, it was supposed to reward those that worked hard and played often.

I'm not disparaging those that have played for points, they have DEFINITELY worked very hard and have really looked into the game itself for its pros and cons to the BENEFIT of all. Just that I think the MVL, with its wide range of game plays and styles, is more closely what the developers had in mind for GalCiv to be, instead of everyone going for a Suicide Conquest victory.

So, ummm my point LOL. That if the MV Empire does make into the top empire ratings, the WORST thing is that its free advertisement.

Not a bad trade off by any stretch.

My MVL character was originally created for the Hitchhiker empire. Not because I'm a fan of the Hitchhiker movie(in fact I never saw it) but because I merely wanted to join an empire.

So, if I join it will definitely be another character. Expect "Alcadeias" to be joining in Round 4. Or maybe not...I'm still mulling it over...

I'm not ready to pull my character out of the Orcas just yet. I will think it over and see if the Orcas are dead or playing possum.

You should join the Tyranny of Evil I'm sure PlayJeff45 could be persuaded to give up some Altarian fembots as a welcoming present or Neilo may even present some Yor tinker toys (though, Yor toys have a bad habit of forming their own AI and collective, I don't suggest having more than a few in your household)

LOL, but seriously, the Tyranny is a LOT of fun, really good camaraderie and we have our own site where we discuss strategy, random topics, and the joys of being evil.

Well, altmeta is online.
Altmeta will be even betta (talk about lousy rhymes) when I start my "butterfingers" character for the next round and remove "the_butter_flies", which has also non-league games on it and therefore messes up the statistics right now.
Still - I have to wait till all the results are counted...

I just wanna say that as a shareholder of Marvel stock (yeah, the comics and movies), I enjoy seeing everyone posting "my MVL character such and such". MVL is the ticker symbol for the stock, so everytime I read that, it takes me a minute to remember MetaVerse League. Just thought it was funny...

I had to submit the round 3 game with screenshots only because of the problem with the 1.7 beta (error 16 when posting to MV), is it okay if I submit another game under the same conditions with that character?

pndrev, have you already submitted a game in the MVL Round 3 thread? if so, then sadly no, you can not submit another game. If however, you did not make ANY post regarding a game submission/score than yes you can. For example, my character Boilermaker has three games that i submitted to the metaverse all following the conditions set by this round. However, it wasn't until today that I submitted a game to the MVL Round 3 thread, which makes it official. At this point I am no longer able to try and replay in this round.

EDIT: after searching the MVL Round 3 thread I am seeing where you completed a game, but not where you ever actually submitted the scores to the League. Can you please confirm/respond to this for me. If you only have a completed game but not a submission then you have another 7 (6?) days for submission.

The Fembots are all Mine... Mine to do with as I please.... And Pleasure is what they give. Maybe just Maybe I may be persuaded.
