Window frames don't actually change translucency

Hi there. I recently upgraded to WindowBlinds 6, and I really like it, except that I'm having issues changing the translucency of some skins. The one I'm interested in in specific is Vienna 2 spectrum. I've already recolored it to teal, but now I'd like to make it more translucent.

The taskbar and start menu look good, but doesn't the window frame just look like it's getting its color washed out?

Well, I set the translucency of everything to max, and found this:

Everything is at maximum translucency but the window frame; it's not any more translucent at all. It's only lost its color.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is it an issue with the software? Perhaps some setting I'm overlooking?

Any help at all would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

Does it only happen with this skin?

Happens on every skin if you make it transparent enough, this is what I've been rallying to have fixed\modified for ages. It's driving me nuts. I knew sooner or later people would start pointing it out.  The Frames arent washing out, their going transparent but a rounded white mask is behind it for some reason and it stays as the real frame disappears.

I've already recieved complaint emails about it too, I have to say there's nothing I can do.

Works brilliantly in XP... In Vista... well..u see.

You can disable the blur to stop this, or in the skin UIS add the following :

[DWMSettings]

Alpha =

And set Alpha to a lower number.  Please note that this will impact windows like the bottom of WMP.

You can also alter the colour used by setting Colour = r,g,b

Add that to all frame images I take it?

Affecting lower frame of WMP is a small concession for correctly rendered frames imo.

and thx

You add that as a single section in the skin

[DWMSettings]
Alpha =

Thanks Neil, I'll give it a whirl.

I tried to add it myself, but didn't get any change when I unloaded and loaded WindowBlinds, so I just switched off the blur for now. Maybe when I restart my computer.

Did you have the WB loaded when you added it? You need to have another WB loaded to add to code, also make sure to save it before you close it out, then apply the WB

I think the easiest solution is what Neil referred to - don't have it blur that particular skin.  On some things, blurring doesn't really make it better.

Not blurring it works, but no matter what I do, editing vienna2.uis is ineffective. Are the skins located anywhere other than C:\Users\Public\blahblahblah?

It does it on all skins Brad. So it's basically saying you can Trans. or Blur.. but not both.

Why are the window frames handled differently from the start menu, taskbar, and menus, anyways, just out of curiosity? :/
