WB6 not working on Vista 64

I've just installed WB6 and it's update on Vista 64, but it's not working properly. Some of the open windows are skinned, but the taskbar isn't.

I also have suddenly a white background under the side bar.

Can somebody please help. Thanks.

Have you rebooted?
Can you post your system info from WB here?

That is very odd.  Any chance you could post a screenshot?

Frog and others, I had exactly the same thing on my vista 64 machine. I finally had to scrap WB6 as it looked so akward with my skin and the mismatched sidebar and task bar. I too tried rebooting and even reinstalling.

Guess what, even after uninstall the damage is done I guess at the registery/program atomic level as now WB5 acts up even though before version 6 I had used to great effect even on this vista machine.

I hopre this gets fixed soon but mostly to let others know its not just you

I've restarted again and now it's not skinning anything at all, but when I go to Themes in the Windows display settings "Modified Theme" is showing as it should.

Here's the screen shot:

Also, the WB icon does not appear on the taskbar anymore.

Did you (anyone reporting a problem) previously have WindowBlinds 5.51 installed for Windows Vista x64? And is Stardock Central reporting Build 160 in Help / About?
yes, my Stardock Central is build 160 and I used to have WB 5.51 installed, which worked perfectly.

Uninstall. Before rebooting, do this:

Start / run / cmd.exe

cd \windows\system32
ren wbload.dll wbload.old
cd \windows\syswow64
ren wbload.dll wbload.old

Reboot. Reinstall. Better?

I am having a similar problem, except I never had WB 5.x installed. I tried the stable release of 6.0 first, then I tried the current beta.

I got everything in order now. I uninstalled, removed some services and startup items using msconfig, rebooted, reinstalled and noticed a Windows Defender notification that I didn't notice before. I permitted the stardock service and everything works now!
