How do I get the free WB6-upgrade?

Hello
I bought WB5.5 on February 27th, so I'm allowed to upgrade free of charge. Where can I get the new version? When I tried it on this Site, it says that i have to pay 15$ !?

When I requested the upgrade serial I didn't get anything either, so I just made the upgrade purchase. Bad part is I think I might have used my WB5.0 instead of my WB5.5 serial to ask for the upgrade to WB6. Did I needlessly pay 15 for something that should have been free?

JRSCCivic98: Why do you have a 5.0 and a 5.5 serial?

If you purchased WB before 1st Feb 2007 then you would not get a free upgrade and having a WB 5.0 serial suggests you purchased WB a long time ago.

I haven't received an "Upgrade" email as yet.....??

Tried via Stardock, but as SnoggiCLP reported, a request had to be accompanied by $'s ;->)

It appears that you have Object Desktop.  As with all Object Desktop components, you get the upgrades for free through Object Desktop as long as you have a current subscription.  If you still have a current subscription, please download and install through Stardock Central.

The Free upgrade email only goes out to qualified purchases of WB, not to people who have Object Desktop, since the newest updates and upgrades are always available for OD users.

I just prompted for an email and it sent me the link for WB5. Should I try to prompt it again? or wait till later ?

I checked your record, and your registration is entered.  If you have not received the email, please request your info to get the link and serial number.

Your purchase was 1/13/07.  The cut off for the free upgrade is Feb 1, 2007.

Have version 5.51.025 installed , have the option to update to 6.00.004 under Stardock central but when I go to upgrade it says "waiting x Seconds" & then gives me an error message saying the URL is invalid. Any ideas?

Yeah, I rechecked and it was for 5.0. This thread threw me off for a sec because it made it seem like the upgrade was free regardless of date purchase. Anyhoo, I up'ed with 15. Now to just get the bugs worked out.....

Brimon: Try going to Tools->Settings->Internet, then click Refresh XML Data and change the download server.

Does this have any effect?

If not, which version of SDC are you running (Help->About SDC)

Has everyone else gotten their upgrade e-mail? I have still yet to receive one and I purchased WB back in May 2007.....

If you have not then please e-mail support@stardock.com who should be able to look into this for you.

Or try reobtaining your serials using the support pages.

OK, I just sent support an e-mail. I tried going through the support pages, and when it sends me my information, it's still all my wb5 info, and the link for the latest build sends me 5.51 still..... here's to hoping. Thanks Neil!

Well that was a waste, I e-mailed support and they sent me a generic e-mail telling me to use Stardock Central, which I've already tried, and that I can use it to re-obtain my license keys, which I already have. Sent another reply, maybe I'll get somewhere out of this one.
