Game thinks WB is hacking program and corrupts it

details below

I play this game called Hero Online, and after a recent patch of the game, the game's anti-hacking program called X-trap thinks that WB is a hacking program, and so everytime I start the game, it would give me an error message, while at the same time, the anti-hack program would delete WB's WBLIND.Dll, rendering it useless. I'm just wondering will you guys be able to solve this or is that the game's company fault, and be responsible for it? It happens for WB 4,5, and 6.

It actually deletes WBlind.dll from the HD?  If so I would contact them and ask them exactly what they think they are doing by deleting files on your HD without permission...

It sounds like their anti hack system is incorrectly detecting wblind.dll as a game hack.  It is not and never has been.

yeah I sent them a 1:1 inquiry last week, no response yet though, they're pretty slow at responding. Yeah it's not happening to me only, it's happening to almost anyone who plays games that has X-trap as the anti-kick, which includes a couple of my own friends as well.

I've created an account and sent them a 1:1 as well, but no guarantees on if/when I'll get a response. They seem to be renaming wblind.dll and wbhelp.dll rather than deleting them, though admittedly I didn't reboot to see if they were then queued for removal on reboot.

Oh only renaming it? still it's causing me make hard decisions now, b/c I still want the transparent look, but I can't play the game Don't be too hopeful on the 1:1 last time I heard, it was a month before they finally responded to someone. That's how long and how many complaints are sent to them (at least that's what they say lol) I tried Rebooting, didn't work.

You have two options open to you,get another copy of the OS you want & setup a dual boot config assuming you have room on the hdd or my choice is to image the original & delete the unneeded programs like ms office,wb,sdc & use it strictly for gaming tho it'll also act as a backup of your original hdd

Does the company not offer any phone number for support?

Maybe there's some utility that lets you protect or lock down your files?

Out of interest, does the games say on the box they use X-trap? I'd be useful to know as I'd stay away from them if they do. Or is there a list of games somewhere?

mhmmm no there's no game list, you'll know when you installed the game or launch the game.
In response to xscorpx: This is my macbook pro, so I have the mac OS acting as a backup to my XP for files, etc. But it doesn't only happen on macbook pro, it happened to my friends who had dells and SOny's, so it's definatley X-traps fault.
