aura wb?

i still have it in the WB folder but it doesn't seem to be working

have quite a few in there - have black text in the name - those don't show in the list in WB config

blackcomb was one that didn't show up - tried rezipping it (an aura) = changing to .wba but 'no uis in file' - moved blackcomb, redownloaded, now it works

you might have to reinstall 5, get aura rezip to wba (make sure the wba works) then save it to install after you put 6 back

that's all i got so far

i wonder if anyone knows how to get this wb without reinstalling wb5?...thanks

i thought it was on wincustomize but its just a screenshot..

you know... if you had uninstalled 6, reinstalled 5, copied the skins folder over, uninstalled 5 and reinstalled 6 sometime during the last 7 days......

i guess i will have to do that. whats the best way to save or copy which wb[folder you want]. and how do you make wb6 recognize your saved wb ? do you just put your saved folder in the wb folder?...thanks..

alright now - did some uninstallings, restorings and rebootings - then had to go to work before I could post & this one didn't cross over to Stardock Forums (can't access WC at work)

I reverted back to 5, then copied Aura's folder to my desktop after making sure Aura was working (seems the one's coming up as no uis in 6 have uis files but nothing else {no graphics,etc}) - zipped Aura and changed extension to .wba - double clicked and got 'new skin installed = deleted Aura from WB folder, dropped the unzipped copy in, but Aura no work == deleted the one dropped in, double clicked the created .wba on desktop and 'ta-da'

on to 6 - {5.91[b].038}

deleted Aura from WB folder after restoration of 6 after checking the folder was incomplete inside and Aura not working -- dropped the unzipped copy in the WB folder - refreshed list and still no Aura == deleted it from the folder and double clicked the .wba on desktop == ta-da == now using Aura


while 5 is installed and Aura is working - zip Aura to somewhere like desktop - change the extension to .wba and double click to test - if working you will get the 'new skin installed' - go back to WB6, get rid of the Aura folder (after making sure it's not working and is missing stuff inside) - then double click the wba you created

This must be a totally fantastic skin to warrant so much work!

One the one hand - very nice skin to have

One the other hand - each version of WB comes with skins - not all skins from one version make it to the next and some times new versions of WB break versions of skins.

If the skins broken were downloaded and are still available, no biggie - go get it
If the skins broken aren't available....well...

I had previously read of some skins disappearing from the list in WB after the installation of 6 beta - so I figured I would copy the whole folder over to put it back when 6 was installed -- the skins folders were there but not all worked.

I was going to restore back and work it out, but I have no short term... jinxjx reminded me... now I can go through the folder while 6 is installed and find the ones in there that aren't working - note them down and revert to 5 - get them working and copied, check for others and revert to 4 if needed - then go back to 6 and reinstall the skins not available as downloads

And as you are the only one to respond to jinxjx, it seems nobody had the .wba to send to him... good an you Bichur!

Mike B would be the only one allowed to do that (or to give permission to do so)

In reading this thread I noticed that I didn't have Aura installed. So I went to my wba folder (on an external hd)and copied the Aura folder to my WB directory, opened WB and did a Skin Rebuild and there it was.

Strange how the same program can act different on so may machines.

ahhh... I'm on rural dialup with an accelerator - animateds don't unless I turn off acceleration... non animated, it looks kinda like the (not sure) emote here

I saved all my WB skins on A USB drive before upgradeing. Aura is there. All I had to do was open the backup in SkinStudio 5 and Zip it for Distribution. Reinstall it in WB 6 and it works just fine. Same for Black Comb.

Hey, I don't have it either! Can someone upload it somewhere?

If you have 6 beta you still have access to it.
go get it.
