very interesting - what do the updates in this beta include?

The last one in history is:-

1.24a
-----------

-Added system tray support when in Vista
-Fixed small variety of bugs
-Improved WindowBlinds skin importing in Vista

No mention of what is in 1.24b...

Looking forward to trying this in Vista. Right Click for me is the only thing which makes Vista tollerable.

Tried it and it don't seem to work - very buggy still

Running Vista by the way.

Was this just an update to make it compatible with Vista ?

I gather there is still no PNG support for RC - and its still magic pink and bmps

Thats a disappointment..would make skinning RC much easier if pngs.
Hopefully in the final release it will include this.

Halleluja!!!

I tried it and it works! For the first time since moving to Vista, I was actually able to fully customize RightClick, without it crashing on me!

So far, I haven't dared to try the more advanced features (a.k.a. Widgets, Meters and Plugins) but I am happy with it as it is now.

...... can't get that grin off my face.....

Just so no one (like a developer) forgets....there is a wish list

i am not a person who is experienced with RightClick so i need a bit of help. how does a person add an entry for "personalize" to the RightClick menu on Vista? i need an antry to take me to the desktop personalization dialogue in vista. i hope that makes sense.
It does make sense... I'd like to know myself. What I do is add Control Panel and get to 'personalize' from there.
i'm confused, which is normal. how do you add control panel, fuzzy?
To add Control Panel, add a new Link, or shortcut, Click browse in the target line, then click the dropdown arrow on "use special folders".

Very disappointing update. It seems it has only been updated to support bloody Vista but nothing new has been added, not even the capability of being able to save different configurations.

RightClick is a great program but this is a skinning site and we like to skin but this so called "update" fails miserably in that department. Still no png support, bmp's and magic pink went out with the Ark and the default "meter" graphics look like escapees from someones pirated version of Windows 95.

Do we now wait another whole year for the next update for this program?

Someone please tell me if I'm missing something. I've got checked 'Use Windowblinds Skin' but I get the same skin for RightClick no matter what Windowblind I have loaded.

Is this the first time you've used RC ?

When you have chosen the " Use Windowblind Skin " it will not change until you see object bar import the windowblind skin.

You can try unloading windowblinds and going to the RightClick folder > WBSkinImport > Skin Repository

Delete everything in skin repository.
Unload RC
Reboot.

Sometimes its just a glitch.

Hope not...
I think the RC program could also update the few skins that come with the program...its the same old skins from when the program first came out...they are rather plain...you could add a few new ones that are a bit more up to date.

Snidely : I have made a shortcut and point to that via 'Link (shortcut or URL)' from rightclick then. I also point to folders containing my most needed shortcuts also as I have lost to many configurations and don't want to go through the pain of doing all in rightclick and then lose it agin...

You may, you may not. If you were running Stardock wouldn't you go where the money is and get the primary programs like WB, SKS, Icon Packager, DesktopX, etc. updated first to work with Vista and still provide new things for XP?? And 64 bit support also?

RightClick is my favorite and most useful program, but for a company trying to be sucessful, it would be a low priority at this point in time I would think...

And it has worked fine with Vista even before this update for me...

Seems it's just me but I have tried the update twice and each time I get the same result. The main menu works OK but when I try to select any of the items, the sub-menu doesn't show.

This is using Vista ultimate with the latest betas.

gef : Try other skins. It seems dependent on the skin if menus show up or not, at least for me. Couldn't figure out what causes this yet. And forgot to report this as my preferred skin works.

I dont think any product that Stardock makes and charges for should be "low priority". That would be bad business practice.

I think it is Stardocks most useful application and I'm sure they would make lots of money on it if it was developed further.

Anyway Boss, good to see you back toeing the party line.

Yes and no. I used it right after it first came out, but this is a new install on a computer I've built since. XP Pro SP2 with the latest Right Click release.

When you have chosen the " Use Windowblind Skin " it will not change until you see object bar import the windowblind skin.

I don't have Object Bar installed (I don't think it even existed when I tried Right Click before and, if I remember correctly, RC used the current WB skin back then). I take it that OB is now necessary for RC to use the current WB skin?

Thanks Fairyy~

Pic...you do not need Object bar installed..I dont have it either.
Its just that RC uses OB to import the RC when you have a blind up that hasnt used the RC skin yet.

Ok, I'll try deleting the contents of the folder you mentioned.

Thanks for your help!

Pic, if the "Use Windowblinds Skin" doesn't update when you change Windowblinds then select another skin for a moment (close & reopen the dialog) and then re-select "Use Windowblinds Skin"

Give it a second or two to change before closing the dialog.

Your welcome

You can delete the contents of that folder anytime...It just puts the skins back there when you use that windowblind again...but when you switch to a new skin watch for the message that shows OB importing...Most of the time its just like Lantec said above..just highlight the option - highlight another skin then go back to that option and wait 30 seconds . It just does this from time to time.

Well that won't work. I don't have a Skin Repository folder under WBSkinImport

I have these folders: Common Arrows, DefaultSkin, StartPanel Skins, and Taskbar Arrows. I also have two files: WB3ToOBSkinConverter.exe and WBToOBSkinConverter.exe

I'll give it a shot, Lantec

If that doesn't work, maybe I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling.

No luck

When I click on 'Use Windowblinds Skin' I get the pointer with the hourglass for a split second but the skin remains at what I assume is a default.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no go.
