Latest Stardock Newsletter about Magic Suite/OD Elite Users

Latest Stardock Newsletter about Magic Suite/OD Elite Users

"Object Desktop Elite users are users who have active subscriptions to ObjectDesktop.net past January 1, 2009."

How that ? Did I miss something ? Is there a 2 Year subscription ? Or is it a typo ?

bobbyhundreds my first thought out of the box is sure why not, but than my adult mind kicks in.

I did answer the survey that Stardock put out, did you? My action of sending you the email could very well may violate my relationship between Stardock and myself as a customer. Another example, I've stated that I renewed my subscription early when I received an email with a discount. I've read other threads here that said they received an email with an offer of a Premium Suite if they renewed early.

The point I making is that we may be looking at promoition programs that are only meant for the individual that the email was sent to.

I think we have to go back to my #16 reply and wait for a Stardock rep to show up.

If there should be any kind of elite subscribers it should be subscribers who have bought Object Desktop more than once.

You clearly haven't read the posts properly GregII and hence your post just looks aggressive and inflamatory. We are asking pertinent questions which we are entitled to do as long time ODNT subscribers and contributors here also. For your information I purchase (willingly)pretty much every premium/master skin going and love to support the authors, but this is a totally different issue,so don't call me a whiner or tell me to grow up.In fact,go away and read the thread again and maybe you will get some understanding of what we are discussing. We are not complaining about having to pay (if you check our profiles you will see we have been here for years so paying clearly isn't the issue).Unlike in your profile which I just looked at and see your contribution is bugger all.
The issue is in fact having to pay two years in advance.

hehe Fair play Philly,I get what you're saying. No problem.  In answer to your question though, yes I did do the survey.

GregII, i don't feel that anyone is whinning, at least not yet. I'm just looking for some clarification from Stardock.

GregII:

My question is a valid one. And I've been a sub since 2001, so I seen a lot.

Back in late July a mailer was sent out to Object Desktop subscribers which offered a 20% discount to renew your subscription, and in that e-mail it stated members who renew past January '09 will get a free premium suite.

Renewing will add an entire year to your access to Object Desktop updates. Plus, with this special offer, anyone with a subscription that expires anytime after 01/01/2009 will get a free, brand-new premium suite next month.

The e-mail about the Magic suite is just letting users who did renew past that date, know that the suite is coming.

See what did I tell you. Now I wish I would have saved that email. I missed getting the premium sute by this much.

Appreciate you response Island Dog. Now maybe we can all get back to doing important things like. . . . . . . . . . . . Damn, I don't have anything else to do.

LOL thanks ID   Still not keen on this 'Elite' thing though.  I think anyone who subscribes year after year is 'Elite'.
hehe Philly I'm with you on the 'anything else to do' bit.

Is there something going on here?

We've been seeing a whole lot more coupons and stuff lately and now we have this premium suite. Is Stardock looking for cash?

Well . . . Brad has been looking to buy a new boat, plus we made some bad sub-prime loans to the Drengin and now they have defaulted and said they will shoot down any repo-ships that enter their quadrant.

In retrospect, extending their line of credit so they could buy "home defense" was a poor decision . . .

More information about that will be coming in the near future.

Why is it - every time we are offered a premium suite or a master suite the whiners come out? Grow up. If you want it, get it. If you don't, don't. How pissed were you when you bought a car and found out you had to put gas in it? Jesus.

This is not about whining but about clearing somrthing up. I did not complain, please red most posts carefully again. Yor rant is totally uncalled for and rude. Most of us are long time subscribers, so I think we have the right to ask
if something is not clear. And this cannot kept private, because the newsletter goes out to literally thousand of users.

I shall defer renewing my OD until such time as I see some worthwhile additions. So far lately I don't. Vista has been out for almost a year and most of the accessory OD programs have not been upgraded to vista compatable such as "Enhanced Dialog, and "Right Click" and i am asked to pay for things like premium dreamscapes. Sorry but I feel neglected. I'll wait and see.

  Hilarious, dude!

What isn't clear? If your subscription expires after January 1, 2009, you are elite.

xgman : RightClick is running fine here in Vista. There could be some functionality updates, but nevertheless it is running.

Any merchant/business has the legit right to run promotions which will aid in the production of positive cash flow. It happens all over the place in all facets of businesses. Have you ever bought a new car and a few days later that same model went on sale? Would you expect some kind of "perk" because you had purchased several vehicles there in the past? How bout on a smaller scale... I buy groceries every week at the same store I have for years. This weeks specials contain many items that I purchased last week. No, I'm not entitled to compensation for having not taken advantage of the offer then.

This is nothing that Brad/Stardock deserves to take any shit over, in any fashion what-so-ever.

Amen.

Phoon : Again, I did not complain nor whine but ASK and I didn't expect anything but clearance. Sometimes these forums just crack me up... I still have half a year with my OD subscription and I am not sure what happens if I renew now. We have come a long way if it is not even possible anymore to ask a question about something without getting shit all over because people are feeling Stardock is attacked when it is in fact not...

This is excellant a month or so ago i got a email that gave a good discount on re-subscription to ODNT & now after a simple survey i get another email with 25% on any product, does'nt take a rocket scientist to now what i'll be buying good things comes to those who are patient

EASY now c242... I didn't point a finger at you!
Your orginal post and subsequent responses have not been bitchy, whiny or otherwise slanderous in any regard. You are correct, you just asked a question. The whining started after your post..

Hey c242; according to the email pasted in the other thread, linked in reply 24, the offer expired July 31, 2007.

Yes, after further investigation and the answers here I got the picture, thanks.

Apologies, Phoon, seems I misunderstood You also. I am honestly sorry... Can't edit anymore, so...
