Editing Windows Color Schemes...how?

Windows2000

Hi there, Im posting in hope to get some help about windows color schemes.

You can go to right-click->Properties->Display (or similiar) in Windows 2000 and edit your color scheme there BUT most of the looks cannot be edited there.

When you apply a new skin in WindowBlinds it also applies a new color scheme where things are changed that can NOT be changed manually with the Properties...

I downloaded a black skin and a great black color scheme came with it, the only problem is that sometimes it uses black text on black background and i cant read anything then, I want to change it badly. (I like the classical look with this color scheme more than the skin from WB)

So, is there any possibility to edit color schemes outside the "Display" tab in Windows? Like, any FILE or something that can be edited with..um notepad?

One solution would be to edit the WB skin in SkinStudio. There you can change color schemes, font colors, etc.

I've been using an excellent program called DisplaySet for years now. It's a PCMag utility, free for the download.

You can find the original article describing the program and a link to download here:

This program will allow you to change most aspects of the color and fonts that you can change. I'm using it with XP with no problem.

DisplaySet sounds great, but I can't download it there.
It says:
Single Download. Purchase this file for $7.97

No free download. And I didn't find it anywhere else on google. only at PCMag.

Can you, like, upload it here maybe?
