Uploading icon help

Hello everyone, I'm a noob at making icon (and uploading them) so i need some help.

I made by icon. It was an apple logo. i made two types of it. One in the .ico format and the other in the .png format. I also put a jpeg image of it. All three of those were in a .zip file. i uploaded it into the misc. icons section and waited about a day for it to show up on Wincustomize. it didn't show up. instead i got an email message from Fussy Logic saying that the icon wasn't uploaded because of the following reasons:

1. The Misc. Icons. Library is for Windows icons only.

2. Png icons should be uploaded to the Object Dock library.

3. You also need to submit a larger preview image.

For number one. does he mean only .ico files are allowed to be uploaded to the misc. icons section? or is it because my icon is a apple logo.

for three. i don't know how to make the preview size bigger without distorting the image.

Could anyone please help me?

what program to create the image?

open image in that program and zoom in, take a screen shot, crop and add any text/details


misc icons should be .ico
.pngs go to the object dock library

yes you will have 2 uploads

Uh are you sure zooming in the icon won't make it blurry?

haven't used that so maybe the zooming thing won't work... I was thinking along the lines of creating a .png for the ico... and zooming in on the .png


maybe open the folder with the ico... right click and preview in window picture fax viewer and zoom to max non blurry then take the screen shot (or open in something like Irfanview (we told you about it before))

how big is the png and how big is the jpeg?

ya zooming on microangelo doen't work (theres no feature to do that).

The .PNG and the jpeg files are both 48x48.

I could have made the icons 256x256 but then it would be harder for me. I could also customize the size to any i want.

How would you do that.

Have you made icons before? or at least know how they work? cause if you do, maybe you can reccommend me to some other programs   

I used Microangelo because i think that it is one of the easist software to make icon and cursors.
