SDCentral wont install anything

Stuck at extracting..

Hi,
I need help in installing object desktop. Stardock central Won't install any of the components. Say for example - Window blinds - It downloads the package, then when it starts to install, it just remains stuck while extracting a particular file and wont budge. It happens with all the packages.

I am using Winxp sp2. No firewall/antiv are active while SDC is running. Cleared the temp folder / rebooted/ reinstalled SDC ..everything    Nothing works
I am using the build 156. Any solutions/ Can I install the components seperately usign the same serial num?

Someone please help.

Please try the following from within Stardock Central:

-Go to Tools->Settings
-Click the Internet section
-Click the "Refresh XML Data" button
-Change download servers
Run this program: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/clear_cache_sdc.bat

okay... maybe... just maybe...

a while back I had issues because of no xml data when trying install updates - I had SDC set to autoarchive the old then download/install the new. Didn't work for me - xml data errors abounded.

so, what I ended up doing was to no worry about losing the version copy I currently had installed and:

right click an app in SDC and choose to download straight to archive.
once it's done, for any apps already up and running = set skin to default (using WB as an example), quit WB, uninstall WB, reboot, get back in, open SDC and restore the archive you created == if app not previously installed (say WB) right click, download straight to archive, restore archive, reboot
