AI diplomatic victories?

Just a quick question!

Can the AI opponents win by a diplomatic victory?

I'm currently playing a game of DL v1.5 and the Altarians have managed to ally with all other major races including myself.

Do they have to be allied for a certain number of turns to win?

I'm sure when I've won diplomatic victories before i have not had to wait.

Not that I'm keen to lose...obviously..just curious.

In theory, yes.

However, unless you play against Terrans or with tech trading on, I have yet to see the AI research alliance tech, so normally, you're pretty safe in that regard.

In that case have I lost?

I've not had the 'cut scene' nor a summary of the game?

When you've lost, you get the cutscene and the endgame summary. Until then, you're still in the running.

If anything changes I'll let you know.

The game is in the bag really so I'll kick myself if I've let the Altarians Quarterback sneak me with a Diplomacy victory.

Good to know. I always thought all victory conditions are available to the AI. So basically, the AI can win in any way EXCEPT diplomacy?
