Can someone look straight at this error??

This error happens for 2 years already.. .but no one can fix this?

When I pressed the Run button of DesktopX..
An error note displayed that dxwidget.exe stopped running
How can I fix it?

Like, what widget were/are you using at the time this error occurs...?

What build of DesktopX are you running...?

Which operating system/build are you using...?

..as much info as you can give in regards to the problem is far better than next to no info at all.

DC : NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTs
FW : Windows Firewall
AV : Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium
AS : N/A

I cannot open DesktopX since I bought I.. How can I set widgets??

Have you tried reinstalling Windows Script? It often seem to fix DX crashes.
I was meaning to give you the link to the download, but MSs site is all messed up atm and just gives out lots of 404 messages.

That's the documentation, I'd say get that if plan to do scripting in DesktopX you won't regret it.

Keep in mind that the version you're running is a beta too. IMO Stardock betas are fairly stable but, they are still betas.

can't find any script download for vista

did find: an unrelated forum post mentioning VISTA and VBS and ERRORs

AV : Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium

Does this have a script blocking option?

Im on vista too.
Always try these betas( 3.49), no luck..

Try open widgets with builder, modify scripts: always crash my dx builder.exe.

Try make objects: crash again.

Im back to stable 3.2 , this work fine for me.

My opinion: try use stable 3.2 version ..

Do this here for me and lets see whats what.

"Press the run button and cause the error. Then go to administrative tools/event viewer in either your start menu or classic control panel. View the errors in the event viewer and get the exact error and/or event from there in an xml view and copy and paste it here." I will see if it will help find the exact cause of why this is happening and if it can be fixed.

I'm not positive but I beleive you have a bad widget trying to load.If it's true just
delete everything in your current theme folder and then load a new desktop and it should work.
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\CurrentTheme is the default address of your current theme folder.

Are you kidding??? I got the Stardock Central Error after deleting.. luckily I created backup.... Dont give me wrong solution..

KhChiu, you must remember that the forums are not meant to identify problems and get direct support from Stardock. You have been getting assistance from other users of the software. Usually you can get help in finding a fix for what's going wrong with your programs. I think it's time you contact Supoort@Stardock.com so they can assist you. Your should refer to this post. Let us know how you make out.

If so, you have no Stardock software installed, not even Stardock Central, that we can tell.
What 'run' button are you referring to?

I bought ObjectDesktop for $49.95

Let me tell you step by step

1.I opened Stardock Central
2.Then I pressed ObjectDesktop
3.Then I clicked DesktopX
4.I clicked Install
5.After Installation finished , I clicked the "Run App" Button
6.Then the message displayed like this
dxwidget.exe stopped running....

Windows is finding solution....

This error happened since I bought your company's software
