After Stardock update IconX thinks it's shareware

I am a paid-up and registered owner of Object Desktop. I just updated one of the components (the latest DeskTopX beta) through StarDock Central, and after rebooting IconX is convinced I have the shareware version installed and won't let me save any configuration changes.

My registration to Object Desktop is good till May 2008, and is registered in StarDock Central with the correct serial number. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling IconX but that didn't fix the problem.

Anyone out there have any ideas on how to fix this? The default IconX configuration that it stuck me with is so ugly that I'm going to unload it until I can get it working right again.

Thanks,

Ken Jancaitis

Forgot to add one thing that might be relevant - right before I updated DeskTopX StarDock Central went through one of its own autoupdates.

have you tried uninstalling iconx via SDC, then opening the registration window, make sure odnt sub is correct, then clicking update - see if that get the full version when redownloading via SDC

Bichur,

I already tried that once, but I tried it again with the same result. I uninstalled IconX, went to Register products to verify once again that my Object Desktop serial number was correct and up to date, and then reinstalled IconX - after which it still thinks it's the shareware version.

Which version of Stardock Central are you running? (Help->About SDC) Also, which Operating System are you running (including any service packs)?

Looks a bit like the issue that I had (shareware version of iconx and I've also downloaded the beta of Desktopx). I asked for any reg numbers to be sent to me, which gave me a link to download the enhanced version of Iconx, uninstalled what I had - then downloaded this. Updated via SDC - seems to work.

Although there's no registration info in the about bit of IconX.

I've got the same problem (sent a ticket to Mike at SD Support - thanks for looking into it). At this point, rolling DX back to the released version is the only thing that's worked for me. IX is the registered version on my box, installed through SDC.
