Shareware version

Hi all,

Just started playing around with Iconx - (installed as part of Objectdesktop), just wondering should I be able to enable animations with this version ?

Sometimes (not always), I get a messagebox saying that 'transitions are not enabled in the shareware version', also something to the effect of saving stuff isn't enabled. As said just started using it really and was wondering if I'd missed something (probably have

Cheers for any help,

Edit - just to add, if iconx is unloaded and then reloaded, it states that transitions are only available in the enchanced registered version (only get the message once). Should that be part of objectdesktop ?

IconX comes with Object Desktop

How did you download and install it?

Using Stardock Centrall - you would register your ObjectDesktop subscription and use SDC to download and install

using Stardock central - try uninstalling iconx - open register - make sure odnt serial is correct - click update - then try a download/install

Installed initially via Stardock central, just re-requested serial numbers (in fact since it gave me a specific key for iconx over objectdesktop I tried that, although the key for objectdesktop should do, shouldn't it ?).

Just unistalled and re-installed via the link in the updated serial email, doesn't seem to complain about not having a registered version (although the 'registered to' bit on the help menu within iconx is blank). What should the animated transitions do ? (can't really tell if it's working or not)

Thanks for the help Bichur,

did you buy iconx before?

mine came with ODNT back in 03

What should the animated transitions do ?

in the 'states' tab

you have states (normal, selected) with substates - those divided between icon and label

if under normal mouse away icon = i set the size to 48 and the mouse over size to 84 == if I unchecked animated it just jumps from one size to the next - with animated checked, set the number of frames, it's a smooth transition.

I bought it with an upgrade from Windows blinds, well just reinstalled and I think - from your description it's going, smooth transitions instead of a jump effect (still doesn't seem to say anything under the registered to bit - but still)

Thanks again !

it shouldn't if it's part of ODNT and not a stand alone purchase
