Autocolonize colonizes with wrong race?

I love the game, and have run into almost no issues. However, I am seeing a problem with autocolonize fairly late in a medium sized game. It seems to be autocolonizing with the wrong race. Is this a known bug? If not, I can provide a game save.

I take that back, its not just autocolonize, all colonization attempts - even from a colonization frigate. Any ideas?

Its been tweaked some what. At least now when one entire race is dead, their culture dies also.

As opposed to living on in fighting memory capable of ressurecting the culture should anyone be foolish enough to colonize a planet still being bombarded with the propaganda of a dead race?
