A serious warning to my beloved community (family)

I just want to warn everyone,...(due to the recent activity of trolls in the area) to watch out for your emails... if you dont know who the email is from ..dont open it.  I recieved an email yesterday that was 'supposed to be from a USER(TROLL) here.  Unfortunatley i was off guard and being my aloof self when i opened it, and it contained very nasty stuff. check blocker, and several other nasty worms and trogans and keyloggers...

 

Im finally back here to report today that the situation has been controlled...and they have not won, i have.  All i lost was time. Im still gonna skin, this isnt going to stop me.  Im still happy, loving life, and loving my art more than ever....so mission FAILED......ha ha ha, suck my d*ck...(sorry but gotta say that, its my motto to jerks)

 

so just wanna warn everyone......that stuff only needs to happen once, not to everyone else too.

thats horrible! ironically i've gotten several emails from users lately asking for help, which I always try to do. But in lieu of this thread, that ends today...Well I'm off to do a full system scan! Thanks for the heads up Kitty...

well, im not clever enough to get the ip address, so i cant pinpoint the troll. and guesstimating wont help me, so ill keep the user as anonymous....since ive no proof.. Hey skinhit, im just gonna hide my email.....the guys i know and trust already have it...... its my best bet for now i think, and future safety.....

Wow, Kitty, hope you got everything back to normal without to much hassle. Geez, the extremes some morons will go to....obviously had a bee in their bonnet and it stung 'em on their tiny little brain, thus resulting in them taking a leave of the few senses they may have possessed.

Kitty, I admire your spirit! And I'm happy to hear that you got the upper hand!  

I also would like to present a warning! Here lately, I've been receiving these emails that look like ecards from someone. It doesn't give a name, just says its from a friend/neighbor/classmate/ect. The first one I got said it was from a friend, I almost opened it. For some reason, I didn't. Thank God! I just read an email from my sister that states there is a new, very vicious virus coming thru via these emails! The emails are made to look like they are from American Greetings and/or Hallmark Greetings!(who knows there may be others, so I deleted anything that even looked like an ecard, even the ads for them!)

But, this virus destroys your hard drive!

I forwarded the warning email to some of the people I know here. Heck, after reading it , I was almost afraid to do that!! Just wanted to warn you all that not only do we need to watch for and avoid what kitty went through, we have this out there too!

thanks Shenaynay......just decided to clear out my bulk folder and I have them from BlueMountain.Com, americangreetings.com, ecards.com, mypostcards.com.....to a classmate, schoolmate, partner......insidious little creeps....

I also have received these type of emails and I have just send them to the junk box. I do not open anything from anyone I don,t know but; sometimes it,s hard to tell the good guys from the bad.

sometimes I send Webshots ecards to friends/fam with specially made pics when I'm too late....(read lazy)...with birthday cards etc......only to find out later they've deleted them without viewing....

Try Mailwasher. I've used it for years. It allows me to read e-mails while they are still on the server, delete any unwanted mail and bounce mail if necessary, all without anything getting near my pc.Link

Thats a good idea..I notice the past week I've had many emails getting through that normally go to spam folder..I thought it was odd that its almost daily now. They are too obvious ...they have attachments with .pfd extensions .....I just delete them but seems odd that the quantity getting through increases each day.

I am getting DOZENS of these a day as well. I would love to find the person that sends this crap and show them what i do to boards that piss me off.. LOL
