DesktopX Widget Systray Icons

Always Show Regardless of Accessibility Properties

Hello,

I've recently had a problem with all of my widget icons in the systray always showing regardless of the accessibility radio button state in the widget properties dialog.

When I right click on a widget, select Properties, and then set the radio button to taskbar systray or none, everything behaves as it should. I then set it to none, and get no systray icon for the widget. When I reboot, the state is set to None, but the systray icon for the widget appears in the systray. I would expect there to be no systray icon.

I've tried the following:

Updated Stardock Central to get the latest MCP. MCP Notification is enabled in SDC, as is enable MCP Smart Startup.

Updated via Stardock Central to the latest released version of DesktopX, v3.20.044, I am not running DX Pro.

Set the widgets to not load on startup, cleared the cache and rebooted.

Reloaded all the widgets, set to load on startup, Accessibility to none, repositioned them to where I want them on the desktop and rebooted.

All of the systray icons for the widgets appear in the systray even though Acessibility is set to None.

Any help greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

Hi Mark, sorry to hear about the trouble.

Which version of Windows are you currently running?

Could you let me know an example of a few widgets you have tried that are exhibiting this behavior?

Hi Mike

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2, fully updated. Alienware Area-51M 766 Rev 2.0 (laptop)
Intel P4 3.2GHz, 2.0GB RAM.

Widgets are Omni Analogue, K-Display, Silica Picture Frame, Summer Nights, Omni Mail 2. All show the same behavior.

Best Regards,
Mark
