Right Click, shrunk now 1cm x 1 cm

Hi everyone,

Ive been using right click for ages and never a problem, until tonight, i have no idea what i did but the right click menu has shrunk to about a 1 cm x 1 cm square, i have tried reloading the skins, (it happens on all of them but i was using one of messiahs Vienna right clicks when it happened) I also reinstalled right click but to no avail, I've broken it somehow and I can't fix it, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

It sounds like RightClick messed up and deleted your configuration.

Rightclick the square, click "Properties" and the RightClick menu editor should come up, with all of your menus gone, meaning you have to start from scratch.

I've had it happen before, and now I keep a copy of the RightClick folder on my external drive, incase something like this happens. Then I can just overwrite the whole folder with my working configuration.

I might be wrong, but that's what it sounds like.

Good luck with it.

I've had similar problems with RightClick in Vista. Sometimes when booting the config is gone and I have to reset it.

RightClick is my most important Vista app - it gives me a 'proper' start menu instead of that crappy Vista joke start menu.

I've had this happen twice in the past 2 months..but I was lucky that it was just one sub menu that just disappeared. Unfortunately its just one of those oddities that happens...I always keep a screen shot of my menus so I can redo them pretty fast now. Hopefully next version of RC will solve this oddity.

But...if you use RC like some of us do, you can't live without it now.

If you archived it would that save all the settings as well and then just a quick reinstall from the archive would 'fix' it?

Well, unfortunately the problem of RC losing settings out of nowhere has been there since years now - also the beg for a 'save configuration' button and was ignored since then(sorry, but...). Workarround is really to save the rc folder to another location once in a while or use KeepSave if You run that.
