"WindoBlinds needs to reboot"

maybe someone can post something insightful?

I'm sure you are all familiar with the little aggravating window that pops up, saying you need to reboot, unless you "use additional processes."

Well, I've disabled my security (even as far as to stopping it from starting with msconfig), reinstalled it, rinse, repeat, stopped most every other program, blah blah blah. No avail.

I've reinstalled this program THREE times, only to have that window reappear on *every* restart (which I did many, many times). Now, it's just uninstalled altogether.

No, it wasn't a trial, it was the free version.

I've read almost every thread on these forums, only to find that nobody has actually said anything helpful. Yes, my computer can run WB. It's a dual core with 2gb of ram, so it can take a beating.

Every time I clicked on the WindowBlinds application, it gave me that stupid little window!

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS WRONG? If anyone can help, that would make my day. Thanks in advance.

What free version, there is only trial and purchased? Where did you get it from?

That is still the "trial" version and "free" to try for 60 days. How long have you had this trial version installed?
Open the WindowBlinds Configuration screen and click on View my system information.  Copy/paste that info here.

I just downloaded it and installed it today. Well, tried anyway. Whatever system info it gives in that respect is unavailable, although it is able to run this program with ease.

As far as the configuration screen goes, I can't even get that far, it goes right to that little box (and I don't even have it installed right now, all it has done is make me frustrated).

And where does it say it's only 60 days? It's the shareware version, isn't it?

Yeah, the site could be a lot clearer about this but it is a 60 day trial.

Have you in the past used other skinning apps like StyleXP, if so some of your Windows files may have been rewritten causing the install problems with WindowBlinds.

WWW Link

This one.

at the top of that page, the phrase 'free trial' usually denotes: limited time, limited capability or a combination

The download button, next to 'buy', takes you to download.com
next to license it says free to try
it used to mention the 60 on earlier pages there
however,
you would have seen the 60 limit if you had gotten it running via a count down splash screen (or on any previous trial version) - if you had an earlier version installed prior to this one, installing this one won't work as the earlier version already determined the 60 day start time

try running The Zapper to completely uninstall

reboot

run a reg cleaner

reboot

try again

Nah, I haven't ever used any other styling programs on this computer, since it is relatively new. I can try the registry cleaning, but I do that all the time, so it may or may not work.

Thanks for the tips

What OS are you running?

Cleaning the registry "all the time"?

What program do you use to clean the registry? You can really screw up the computer if you do it wrong.
