Windows Stuck at Startup

I bought object desktop today and downloaded and installed pretty much everything on my WinXP SP2 (except for Vista-specific components. After doing this, windows won't fully startup. it gets to where it appears to be loading the programs that show up in the system tray, but they never do. When i mouse over anything on the regular windows taskbar, it turns into an hour glass. anywhere else and it's a pointer. sometimes i can click something and see that it is selected, but nothing ever happens. rebooting in safemode didn't help, but i was able to do a system restore. The system restore took about 10-15 minutes!

I saw how to disable windowblinds from starting up (after i saw that it wasn't in processes or msconfig), but i couldn't get to where i need to get to do it.

Any ideas?

did you install all at once? or one at a time with rebooting and checking before installing another?

all at once; no reboot...why would i do something intelligent like that? (i feel like you just asked if it was plugged in...and it wasn't).

do you have a suggested order of installation?

just try installing the programs you want one at a time with a reboot in between each one, this gives each component a chance to gel in with windows properly without overloading the o/s. hopefully doing it this way will work for you

it all worked fine...i'm only running WB. now there's a problem with WB and ActiveWords. there is another thread on this here and at AW, but there never was a real fix...people said/thought that both WB and AW fixed their respective bugs. See the other thread, "Conflict with ActiveWords 1.9?"

got a link?

until a fix is in, you can open WB configuration - change the look of a particular app (something to that effect on the left) - click add on the right, browse to the exe of the app and add it to not be skinned - or skinned only in certain ways (you get options near the end)
