bootskin boot

i have a problem right now, my computer won't boot with any bootskins. i have tried older versions also, but they all have the same effect. first my bootskin will show up, then after that its just a blank screen, nothing but black and no mouse. i'm sure i've tried bootskin before, a long time ago, and it worked. i cant even log into safe mode...

thx for any help

Bootskin doesn't work with all BIOS. There are a few different versions on the Bootskin download page that you can try, but unfortunately if none of those work there's nothing you can really do.

Safe mode should always work . .something else might be broken.
Are you using a bootskin of your own desgn or one that came with the software?

when i log into safe mode the login screen that im using pops up, shouldn't it be the regular log in screen? so far i tried one of the designs that came with it, and it didn't work, and i also tried one i downloaded, and it also didn't work, but the regular windows xp one works.

There is a possibility that your BIOS settings are now configured in a manner that your system will not boot properly. (Just had this problem recently when upgrading to Vista.)
You may need to default your BIOS settings.
If you cannot get to your BIOS with keyboard, check your motherboard for something that looks like a watch battery. Remove it. (this battery keeps enough power going to remember your BIOS settings)
Wait about 20 minutes to let the power and residual energy dissipate.
Put the battery back in and your BIOS settings will be defaulted and your system should boot properly.
Hope this helps.
