Game Crash Do to not having internet access???

I've gotten over my last post, and decided that Galciv2 is worth playing every now and then. But now I have a new problem. Since I'm on the road, I bring my laptop with me. The game keeps crashing on me. I haven't made a copy of the exact problem, which I can do for future reference, but for now i'll just see what you guys have to say. The last thing the message says during the crash was something about not being able to check my ID verification. If this is due to the fact that I can't connect to online while I'm gaming I think that I'd rather I had to have a CD Key to prove that I'm the one that purchased the game. I have a few of them on my computer and when I'm on the road, I can still use them? Anyways, any help would be welcomed, because I would eventually like to play more than 1/2 without a game crash.

No, the game does not require internet to play. Internet is only needed for activation (if you've patched or installed offline from an SDC archive), which  is one-time per installation unless you reinstall windows or delete the activation record. If you install from a retail disc and don't patch it, it never needs internet access, period.

If you're having a crash, you should absolutely post your debug.err and any other relevant information so we can help you get it resolved.

That reminded me of a problem i had in an old game called battlezone 2.

I used to always use multiplayer against the computer - since multiplayer allows respawn if you get killed. But if during the game, the network connection is lost, it will stupidly exit the game even though no one else is playing! how dumb is that?
