Need help w/ Metaverse Vs. My Serial Number

Last night i finished a game of DA, it asked me if i wanted to save it to the metaverse and i said yes. But then it told me my serial number did not match that in the database or something. It asked me if i wanted to try again and i hit "yes" same result. There was a 12 in parenthesis at the begining of the message if that has any significance.

Anyway about 2 weeks ago (after i started the game in question) i had to do some fixing on my computer to get rid of some viruses. Due to this i had to reinstall Galciv2. It didnt give me any problem when I inputted my serial number and i continued to play my saved game. I thought if i had entered it wrong or differenet from the first time i loaded the game it would tell me it was a bad serial number, and i wouldn't be able to play?

Anyone know how i can get my score onto the metaverse? Did I enter my number wrong and should i reinstall it again to make sure? Would I be able to play if i enetered the number wrong?

Thanks.

I have the exact same problem. So far two reinstalls (automatic via SDC, so I didn't even have to enter the serial myself) did not solve the problem. Let me know if you find a way.

See this thread for my specifics, which are even weirder than it seemed at first glance.

My problem with the serial just got solved. Try SD-Central, "Tools" -> "Register Products" and enter you serials for GC2 and DA. I don't know why, but it seems to me that a complete reinstall via SDC somehow messes up the connection between your local games and the numbers registered on Metaverse.

Also, I don't know why I didn't check that option sooner, but then again, it installed everything so I just assumed it knew the serials. Oh well...

This has worked for several people now;

Re-register your game(s) in SDC with the original serial numbers you had, not those tht may come when you request SDC to 'remind' you.
Those serial numbers are different than your original ones, and they work in SDC but may cause this issue in the Metaverse.
If you don't have your original serial numbers, e-mail us at support@stardock.com and ask us to copy & paste your numbers from your Stardock.net account.

You should then re-paste the serials into your Metaverse character account, even if you see the same number appearing, paste it anyway. This step was necessary for one person.

I have followed Highlander's instructions and I, too, cannot create a character for Metaverse. It keeps telling me that my serial number is invalid or not registered. I would really like to start submitting scores, join an empire, and interact through Metaverse.
