Why can't I post a metaverse game?

I'm running the fully updated, registered version of DA with mods turned off.

So anyway, I figured I would try metaverse games. I started a new game from the metaverse button, made myself a character, etc. A week later I win the game, and don't get an option to upload the score. It was like a normal game, it just ended... and I had no way to do anything in the metaverse.

What did I do? What could be wrong?

Aye, that was the next step. I just thought I'd see if there was any feedback here first, because I really feel like it must be something I'm missing.

If I start a game from metaverse, with mods turned off, it should upload... right? There isn't anything with amount of game saves, or any other criteria that affects it?

There is one liitle thing you might check, if you haven't already ... your firewall may be blocking the ports to post to the Metaverse. To check, start the game and adjust the screen size to something smaller than your monitor, really small just to check, and restart the game.

Dunno if yours does but my firewall pops up a message on the right side of the screen, and I have the choice of allowing the connection to Metaverse or not. After the first time the firewall remembered it no problems.

Do you happen to know what ports the game uses? I don't think it's that, but I could try forwarding them through my router.

No, I don't remember. All I remember is I couldn't see any pop-ups while GAlCivII was on fullscreen, so when I made it smaller or put it in a window, I could see the helpful popups. I'm sure support@stardock could help you with that too, they're pretty sharp.

Yeah, you know, as long as I had you in the thread... and so forth. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

This has worked for several people now;

Re-register your game(s) in SDC with the original serial numbers you had, not those tht may come when you request SDC to 'remind' you.
Those serial numbers are different than your original ones, and they work in SDC but may cause this issue in the Metaverse.
If you don't have your original serial numbers, e-mail us at support@stardock.com and ask us to copy & paste your numbers from your Stardock.net account.

You should then re-paste the serials into your Metaverse character account, even if you see the same number appearing, paste it anyway. This step was necessary for one person.

I opened a ticket, and that did work for me.

However, I find that I now can't select difficulty level in metaverse games... lol. Am I nuts, or should I be able to do that?

I ran into that also. There are actually two different selections - Scenario and Difficulty. The scenario is not selectable for Metaverse games. That's the first screen when starting a normal game ... the fourth screen when starting a normal game is the difficulty selection, which also applies to Metaverse games.

Hey! Wake Up! [splash of water] You falling assleap on duty, sojer?

FYI, The game uses port 80 to submit metaverse scores.
