How do I get rid of the original icons?

I have Object Dock running, however, the original icons still remain on the desktop. Is there a way that I can get rid of them without wiping them out completely? I might need to bail on the Object Dock idea, and I'll want the original shortcuts back. Also, the recycle bin doesn't delete from the desktop... looks kinda tacky having an Object Dock and one normal icon.

Use TweakUI to get rid of the recycle bin icon, it's a Microsoft PowerToy.

As for the other icons, you can go to the desktop properties > desktop > customize and uncheck the icons there. For whatever other icons you might have, you could always create a folder somewhere on your harddrive and put all the shortcut icons in there in case you decide you want them back on the desktop. Otherwise, you could just right click on the desktop > arrange icons by > and undo show icons on desktop.

Put them in another folder for the time being. I just move the recycling bin into the corner!
