How to change the default windows vista font with WB ...

Ok so i bought a new desktop a week ago with vista home premium and i bought WB 5.5... I can recall in my old computer ( running windows xp pro) i would be able to assing a font any font i liked in user overides to the skin i wanted and it changed all the system fonts to the one i had selected for the skin.... I dont recall what version of WB I was running in Xp... With this new version that i have i see user overides but i do not see a choice of changing the font of the skin does anyone know if this option was taken out in WB 5.5? or is it just vista? I also cannot apply any transparency skins cause it wont support transparency but i do have Aero .. I can live with out transparency i have no prob with that ... But can anyone point me on how to change the font of the skin im applying like i said in my old version it had the option to overide the font but it seems with this new WB 5.5 the option is missing any help would be apreciated Thanks.....

I'm not sure about Vista, but in 5.5 on XP font/shell overrides are in desktop properties > appearance > advanced.

I'd like to know about this as well, as it was the main reason I bought WindowsBlinds. Not being able to change the window title fonts, or the taskbar font is super annoying.

Yeah exacly that was one of my main reasons also for buying it... see what happens is i apply a skin that comes with an assigned font already ... so when you apply the skin you have chosen WB5.5 should be able to overide the vista system fonts and it doesnt it sticks to lame as segoe uei.. Making the theme you aplied really shitty and it doesnt look anything close to like it was supposed to .On Xp it would overide the system font with the skin font you aplied... I am a deskmoder and i love to modify my desk to the extreme so thats why i bought WB out of my own pocket the WB app that i had on xp was given to me as a gift and it seems with vista its almost next to impossible to modify to your liking... It seems to me that WB5.5 cannot overide all of vista defaults like it should do..I hate the vista look maybee because i see and have seen so many skinners making vista themes over and over and over anb over and over and its all the same :/ ugh.... I could change the system fonts probably with a patch I have googled it and have found it but it says use at your own risk and that he is not held responsible for any damage etc... It tells you to back up your system bah ... that is to crazy for me and i just bought this desktop dont want to mess it up in any way.... WB5.5 should of been able to simplify that like it did on XP but then again bah.... I might buy a new HD and install Xp on that and go back to my evil ways hahahahahaha... jk. hope someone out there has an answer ... have a good day guys.

Download Skinstudio, specify a new font for the areas you want and apply it. Its quite simple.. choose an image..titlebar for example, go to its attributes.. and choose a different font from the dropdown menu.. apply and it saves it for future use. Who knows.. it may bring out the inner skinner in you

Im not sure how vista handles font overides as of course MS completely screwed us on the display properties dialog.

Yes, I have done a few Vista WB versions, Even in vista, when control of the font is specified in SKS and saved it is permenantly changed in the WB leaving you nothing left to change \ overide..ever... as long as you keep that version of your theme.

Retun and let us know how it worked out.. won't you ?

if you want to change the fonts in vista right click a blank part of your desktop and choose personalize once the personalization menu comes up you will see on the upper left hand side saying adjust font size you can adjust the font size from there..

Vstyler it worked i did as you said I downloaded skin studio i went ahead and changed all the fonts on the skin that i could find or should i say where ever it gave me a choice to change the font and for the most part about 80% of it worked the other 19 % that i couldnt change was the start menu fonts and i believe the folder fonts oh and icon fonts... but i went ahead and tried this ....I right clicked my desktop and then went here Personalize->Window color and apearance->Open classic appearance properties for more color options.. New window opens then i clicked the Advanced tabb another window opens then at bottom where it has the item box i clicked and chose one by one an individual item some items when you click on them you wont get an option on changing the font but on the ones that it let me i did...i chaqnged it to my desired font and there is the other 19%... the 1% that i could not change or couldnt figure out how to was the navigation pannel on the left of each folder but i guess i can choose not to view the navigation pannel on the folders... any idea where to go about changing this? other than that its all great thanx for the heads up vStyler.... "whatwhere" i was not looking to change the font size i was looking to change the over all fonts in vista... Im gonna go ahead and upload to imageshack a before and after shot so people can see .. the reason for me wanting to change the fonts was cause i only wanted one single font for everything not 6 different fonts for different areas of vista looks crappy here are the links ..... here is the before ---> Here is the after i went ahead and pointed out what i could not change ---- > Thanks for the help.....

WB can't change those areas yet.. I fear they are hard-coded.

The shellstyle font cannot be changed but all the other areas you mention can be, even in Vista..

In Skinstudio go to > Misc. > Fonts for classic widgets and specify them there.
