Ani-Util need DirectGUI.dll fix

This is often missed in new versions

Just updated my DX Pro and tried to use AniUtil. Got this error...

The procedure entry point ?DG_PngFileToBitmap@@YAPAUHBITMAP_@@PAGPAH@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library DirectGUI.dll

This seems to be overlooked quite frequently when DesktopX is updated...

Bump this........

When you click on the PNG image, hold down the control key. No joy with that: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX........clean it out.

I thought you were trying to animate a PNG image in DX using AniUtil. My stupid......

.....now empty out the DX cache folder (if you don't understand that, then just list me as having two stupid attacks and I'll call it a day)

I read in another post that the DX release snuck out.  This is good input . . but probably not pertinent until the official release.

Also, Stardock is closed for the weekend and Monday for Memorial day.  Bumping is not going to do much good until then.

AniUtil should not be overlooked IMO, beta or not. It is a very valuable tool for creating animations.

As a workaround..
BEFORE upgrading, make a folder somewhere called AniUtil ( like c:\program files\aniutil
Copy aniutil.exe and DirectGUI.dll from your existing version into that folder.
Run aniutil from there.

I was probably unclear . . the release on Thursday (Friday?) was unintentional.  I'm going to bet that aniutil will be covered.  but thanks for the update.  One less thing to forget.

I know everyone is coming off a long holiday weekend. I just didn't want this to get overlooked.
I forgot to copy out the old Aniutil and directgui.dll file on this system before I ran the premature released upgrade.
Could someone possibly fix this real quick?

I just grabbed the updated DX Professional dated 6-18-07.
It STILL is not fixed in this version.
I just have to ask... why.

I hate beating dead horses, it just isn't fun anymore at my age, but WTF...
AniUtil is a very handy application. Other apps I've tried don't do png sequences, but aniutil always does a great job. Why can't someone take the time to fix the dam thing when DX is updated.
Yet another beta has been put out, 3.48e[b].014 with AniUtil not addressed.

I downloaded the latest NON-Beta version on a different machine, and pulled out AniUtil.exe and DirectGUI.dll, and placed them in a new folder. It works that way.

Why don't you just make aniutil a separate program instead of incorporating it in DX. It will be one less thing you have to worry about then..
