Changing Computers

Dear experts,

i am planning to change desktops, and was wandering if you'd know WHICH FILE i have to back-up in oder to overwrite it on the new machine to save all the settings. As it took me quite some time to configure Object dock, i thought that this information is saved somewhere.

would be nice if you could help

Cheers
Seb

scdrawert if you installed via Stardock Central then you can archive the entire program, then use SDC to restore the archive.

Also make sure to save your current setup as a theme....open the Dock configuration window & save theme......after this make sure to copy all of your folders in the My Documents/ObjectDock folders...including backed up themes.

If you want to save your objectdock settings i think they are in the following folder (for vista it is similar for xp i think):

C:\Users\********\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDock

replace the ****** with your windows login name for example mine is

C:\Users\Ben\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDock

Your images etc are in other locations so you would need to backup those also.

I think MySecret's method would be easier. I did an archive of my OD 1.5 before I upgraded to 1.9, and since 1.9 didn't work so well I just restored my 1.5 archive and all was well.
