I need help cheating...

Hey, not like I'm going on metaverse or anything

I recently discovered the .customracexml files stored in My Documents\Games. Being the amateur XML modder I am, I immediately went to work editting the files. Yet, as soon as I started up a single-player game, the game undid my extra bonuses, among them +4 Speed and +10,000 Soldiering.

Is there an easy XML edit to stop the game from doing this, or is the code hardwired too deep?

No one has answered your post?

Well you have the right forum page but the wrong topic, You should ask for modding help not cheating help.

Bonuses given on the 'named' ability tags in the DA custom race files need to match selectable options in-game. If you want to give natural bonuses, you need to set them on the ABILITYnn tags. Each of those is the same ability as the named tag immediately before it, IIRC.

XML edits don't qualify as mods, even amateurish ones?

Anything that changes the standard game is a mod, anything that changes the standard game and allows metaverse scoring (if that were possible)is cheating.

+10,000 Soldiering.

Talk about taking a gun to a knife fight, actually i think you just redefined that saying, it should now be,

Take a M-60, Self-propelled Howitzer, A Romulan Warbird and a Sith Lord into a knife fight.....

Happy Modding!

Dread Lords is finicky about such XML mods, while Dark Avatar is much less so. DL will reset things.

I'm sorry i was refering to the pluss 10000 soldering ability being a DREAD LLORD I mean would'nt that take any challenge out of the game?
