What's going on? I'm confused.

About a month ago I got a flash from Stardock about the great new ObjectDock Plus 1.9.

I installed it, and found that the weather docklet doesn't work - at least not for us foreigners. I was told it was being worked on - I'm still waiting.

Today I got ANOTHER flash from Stardock about the great ObjectDock Plus 1.9, but I can find no information anywhere about a new new 1.9 (Yes, I did mean to say that twice) I'm invited to link to a page which claims to have to do with downloading updates to regsitered products, but when I get there the only thing I can do is tell Stardock what my email address is, so that they can send me an email telling me what all my registered products are - I know that! So what's with the updating of registered products? And don't tell me that Stardock Central can help, there at least ObjectDock Plus is registered.

So has there come an update to 1.9, and if so how do I get it? And is the weather feed fixed? And if not, when is likely to BE fixed? And if not, why not fix it so that in the meantime we can go back to the previous version, which does/did work?

While I can't account for your troubles with the download I can explain the weather problem. Accuweather and Stardock are rearranging servers. Since this is being done on both sides it takes twice as long for the resolution. Should it have been just a Stardock or Accuweather problem I am certain it would have been solved by now. Please be patient with us as we fix the issue.

I would highly suggest using Stardock Central to download any of our applications. Not only will this allow you to resume downloads, it will also notify you when updates are available, and prompt to update.

You're able to create a Stardock.net account here: https://www.stardock.com/sdnet_login.asp
This will be required to log into the Stardock server through Stardock Central.

You may download Stardock Central here: http://sdc.stardock.com/sdcentral_setup.exe

By the way, you're also able to have Stardock Central email you your account information at any time through the Tools->Lookup serial number option. This is a nice feature, though you will never need to remember your serial number or any download links to use Stardock Central. You will only need to remember the email address and password you specify for your Stardock.net account.

I was able to get weather for London.
I also found that it was impossible to get weather for Stockholm because it got three different version. Which you can't define which one to use via OD.

I think the issue taken up here isnt about how to download OD....its more about providing the accurae information to registered users.
I too, a few weeks ago, got an email Flash telling me tht the New OD wa available. I insalled it then and experienced the problems already discussed in these forums over the last few weeks asosciated with the 1.9 build.
A few days ago i recieved a new flash promoting the build again....and presumed that it was informing me of an update to the problems being experienced with this build (why else send me a second Flash for a product I havealready upated?!!!)

After looking for an update on SDC I didnt find one but reinstalled it anyway thinking this may have to be the case to fix the problems (assuming that was whatthe second 1.9 email flash was insuiating).
To no avail...tese didscussed issues still remain unfixed.

I understand that these fixes will be fixed and require patience on my behalf, but perhaps Stardock needs to be a bit more clear on this current second flash.... that its merely a 'marketing effort' and not promoting a fix to the issues exerienced by customers that may have already updated or purchased OD 1.9 due to the original first email flash.....

kind of rubbing salt into a bit of a cut if u get my drift.

In this particular situation, it might be more benificial to your customers, to send an info on the progress of of the issue fixes, rather than another promotion advertising the benifits of a product version that we already know has issues awaiting fixes.

maybe tryto be a bit more clear next time....much appreciated.

That's one of the advantages to using Stardock Central.....you KNOW at a glance whether a program is updated or not.

For Mr.Seabass6.7, are you involved to the Stardock development team? If so, please tell them that The Stardock must show the users about the time schedule to fix the weather problem!
U think it is the problem of Accuweather server, and it only support the major cities of the world in the first searching function!
Anyway Startdock MUST show us the future plan of improvemrnt!

OK matsuda0707.....here's the scenario.....
there's 2 guys, one in NY and the other in LA, one drives a NISSAN Sentra, the other a Harley Davidson, they leave their respective locations at the same time driving to the other's location.

The one from NY has a small weak bladder and has to stop to pee every 1.5 hours. He also suffers from diverticulitis and may have to stop 1 or 2 additional times per day for that. He sits down to eat 3 times a day and doesn't like fast food. When driving he never obeys the speed limit and only makes left turns. His NISSAN gets 24 miles to the gallon and carries 20 gallons of gas. He likes to drive 8 to 10 hours a day before finding a motel for the evening.

The fellow from LA doesn't mind peeing off the side of the road. For this trip he's not going to use a map. He likes to drive slow enough to piss off all the drivers following him and usually stops at bar & grills to eat so he can put down a few before getting back on the road. His harley has a 5 gallon gas tank and gets about 30 miles to the gallon. Some days he'll drive 12 or more hours, others he's so hung over he can't get out of bed.

So I ask you matsuda0707 EXACTLY when and where will the 2 men pass each other on their journey?

As I said before if it was just Stardock that had a plan of attack on how to solve this problem I would be happy to explain what we plan to do on the matter and give a proper timeline with some accuracy. However since there are two companys working on the same problem the matter will always complicate it's self. Not that anyone is to blame over the other it just works out that way.

We are uncertain if the problem stems directly from either side, I never said accuweather is the blame in this matter. However it is a high priority for the dev. staff and you can be certain a resolution is on its way as quickly as possible.

O.K. Lantec, you're on a roll. Can I bind these and future word problems from you to help teach my kids math? If all the scenarios had been this relative to my everyday world, I would have aced every course and exam. Best read of the day!

Feel free to.
I call it "Fuzzy Logic" math. Learned it asking what his nick meant.

Oh, and after re-reading what I wrote I realized some at Stardock might think I was comparing them to either driver, I wasn't. Just trying to show how futile it is to apply absolute time lines for things.
