windows blinds wont skin the toolbars or start menu

It worked earlier today, but it suddenly won't skin the tool bars or start menu ( it does everything else other than that). I really can't think of anything that I changed either... It is not expired, cause I just installed it yesterday. I cant seem to get any answers anywhere. I found a post here with a guy having the same problem, however no one helped him cause they found out he had a pirated copy. Does anyone here have any ideas that I can try?

It sounds like the trial period has expired. If you previously had WindowBlinds installed the time limit would have started then. Un-installing and re-installing does not reset the clock.

But I havent ever had it until yesterday. I have NEVER uninstalled it and reinstalled. First install was yesterday. I'll just try another program..

Thanks.

How very, very odd.  In all the years I've been using WB, I've never seen such a thing.

Hmmmm.

Try WB 1 or 2, I think the trial lasted forever and they just trusted that you would buy it after the stated trial limit...

I have a similar problem. However, It won't even run for my PC, I understand that per pixel shading is not supported in Vista (My OS) unless you have a Vista score of 2.0 and higher, but it doesn't apply the skin at ALL for me. I also find it odd that it worked perfect back when I had XP, even the per pixel shader handling.

Out of all curiosity, what could be causing this problem?

This is a fix from Bebi:
Go to View > Toolbars > Customize. Switch the icon size from large to small (or vice versa) and apply. Then go back and switch it back, and the correct icons should be displayed.

open WB configure, click 'view my system informtion' on the left and copy/paste to here all the info that shows up - maybe a file borked

I appreciate the attempt for helping me, but unfortunately it didn't work.

Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of 1

Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 1.9

On a side note, I remind you that it will not apply the skin at ALL, AKA: skin reverts to windows classic and stays there.

nerdyguru, if you're running windows xp and windowblinds is only skinning a portion of your windows environment, try checking the following:

- right click on My Computer, click on Properties
- click on the Advanced page tab
- click on the Settings button in the performance section of that page
- click on Adjust for Best Appearance and verify that every setting is selected, especially the very last setting that is labeled "Use Visual Styles on Windows & Buttons"
- Click on Apply, Click on OK, you will probably see a "Please Wait" message as windows applies the new appearance settings you've selected
- click on OK again to close the My Computer dialog window, you should be back at the windows desktop

Verify that areas that weren't getting skinned are now showing up with the theme that you've selected. Also, take into account that per-pixel themes probably won't skin correctly using the trial version of WB. Let us know how it works out.

GREAT NEWS!

The problem apparently fixed itself! I give thanks to all the help provided.

EDIT: Never mind. I went to bed, got up and reloaded my PC and it's gone again...
