Need for weapons in all-good universe?

I decided to start a new game.
Medium map with me (Terran) + 4 random civilizations.
The 4 random races appeared to be Torian, Iconian, Krynn & Drath.
Torian, Iconian & Drath ganged up against the Krynn very early and that gave me enough time
to research Xeno Ethics and make the switch to the Good alignment also.

With Krynn beeing wiped out of existence beeing the only non-good race, there now is 4 "good" races in the game and nothing else. As problable everyone can guess, everyone loves everyone.
So far this is actually the most boring game of DA I have ever played.

So what would your advice be?
Is there any need to be focusing on weapons and ships at all in this game?

Also, Is there any way to prevent such a boring mix of races when starting up the game whitout pre-chosing races?
I´d like to have races of all alignments in my games to keep things intresting yet have them appear at random.

I recomend ending it quick with a diplo. Then start again.
If I get a mix like that I would abandon it and start a new game.

Personally I'd try building some influence starbases next to the Iconian's worlds. Dont do it piece meal either. Build all the constructors and then position them to flip the Iconian's worlds. Then strike quickly with a single turn build while using diplomacy to stall the Iconians until their worlds start flipping like hot cakes. The Iconians will allow you to absorb them like that but the others will become aggressive if your on tough or higher. You'll probably get the secret meeting event then...

That funny, I have almost the same mix.

I'm Terran, then i have Iconian, Alterian, Drath and Krynn. its year 1.5 and already i'm friendyly with three races.

I thiunk its too earluy to say that its going to be boring though, besides i got a precurser library and im keeping this game!!!

i didnt realize the drath were good, they were a little nasty the first time we talked. said something about staying out of trheir way.

If it were the real universe (bear with me!) I would prefer it to be boring...
There's a Chinese curse which says "May you live in interesting times..." as anyone who read some Terry Pratchett would know

...you absolutely need to let come some freaky actors like Dregins, Yor or Korath in the game too. Suspense guaranted

Actually I have several times had a galaxy were almost all random races has been evil. (witch is somewhat okay as that still guarantees some action) but this was the first time I had a galaxy whitout any evil races att all.

I abandoned the game btw.. there simply was no point in continuing.
It seemed to be impossible to get a diplomatic victory since it was not possible to get Iconians relations to get "close" since they supposedly
"knew what I was doing" witch was a bit funny since I did not really have the slightest clue myself ... just kept hitting enter.

A.I was researching weapons and building ships it did not inted to use as all relations beeing better than neutral excludes any possibility for A.I starting a war.

As for me, I skipped all war techs and after failing to get a diplo headed stright toward a techonolgy victory. In the end, pressing enter became too boring so I quit.
I did not get any mega events either.

Oh well, stepping down for another galactic leader is another option He can take care of peaceful times.

Pay one of them to attack the Altarians.

[edit] Of course, that may not be possible if everyone has chosen their alignment already. So instead, park a troop transport in the middle of someone else's sphere of influence, upgrade it to a transport that has no engines, and gift it to another faction. Better yet, do this with about ten transports. I haven't had to try this yet, but it's on my list of sneaky ways to attempt to stir things up.

Spore. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfrakker in the galaxy. Accept no substitutes.

For starters, it seems to me you made a big mistake in choosing to be good when researching xeno ethics. I'd be keen to try an all-good galaxy just for kicks, and see if I couldn't manipulate everybody into war. But if you really find it boring, why the heck did you choose to be just like everybody else? Sure, it'll be easier, but the easy path is often right next to the boring one....

If you really needed some extra excitement, why didn't you go to war with any of the other races? Good races go to war with each other in at least one game I've been a part of. And as the human player, you can do anything you want. So far as I know there's nothing that'll say "sorry, you're too good to attack anybody."

I'm in a similarly boring galaxy. The only people who hate eachother are the Drengin and the Thalan, and thats because they share a small cluster of stars. Everyone else gets along (the races are: Drengin, Thalan, Terrans(they're really powerfull here), Korx, and Arceans) Everyone loves me, and they all love eachother. So I've begun a plan to crazify the galaxy. I'm nocking off the half-dozen or so minor races, allying with two of them because they are powerfull enough to bug an AI, to prime myself for war against the Terrans. I also brokered peace between the Drengin and Thalan, then allied myself with both. All I have to do is put my devious plan into motion before my allies start throttling eachother again

Basically I'm going to start a war and hope that I'm accused of war-mongering by my non-allies.

Good races will go to war with each other from time to time without any help, anyway. Just in my last game I, the Iconians, was being beaten up by both the Yor AND the Drengin and what do the Terrans and Torians do? They declare war on each other. Yeesh. Of course, after I beat off both the Yor and the Drengin I quickly allied with the Terrans and Torians after they ended their little spat.

What would you say i was? Hmm... I dont believe in ethics so i made up a tec called 'Archin Ethics'. Archin Ethics challenges all beliefs in Good and Evil.
