system tray

system tray

I was using the OD v1.5 so I update to the new version 1.9.
I have 2 problems:
1- The weather docklet (already in dicussion in other post)
2- I cant see any icon in the system tray tab. I hide the windows task bar so the system tray tab is realy important. Any sugestions for this bugs?

You might try clearing the cache

I'm running the english version, and I also had problem with the tray.

It seems like the problem is caused by some permission issue, as I may have solved it by

1) adding my current user to the administrators group
2) run objectdock, configure the tab to show systray
3) verify that the systray items are now shown
4) remove current user from the administrators group

Now, even though my user is no longer in the admin group, i can still see systray items.

I probably should've said english version of Windows

Maybe this will help the developer address the problem.

Does the system bar not work on OD Plus with Vista 64bit?

For the system tray issue with ObjectDock, can we try and post some information for both those who it works and those who it doesn't...

- Desktop resolution and number of colors
- Video card type
- Video card driver version
- Multiple monitors?
- Windows language setting (Control panel->Regional and Language Options)
My example...

- Desktop at 1920x1200 @ 32bit colour
- nVidia 7600GT PCIe
- Driver version 9.7.9.2
- One monitor
- English (Canada) language setting

I've been able to get the system tray to open ONCE. I believe I disabled the tray in the Troubleshooting options, rebooted and re-enabled the tray. Not sure if I rebooted again, or if it worked right away. It was gone the next boot.

Yep same problem, OD+ 1.9 using Win XP Pro SP2 and no sys tray icons at all... quite annoying... as I have to revert back to the XP task bar

I tried all the suggestions above as well as un-installing and clearing the cache but no luck

Please if someone has a solution...

I would suggest e-mailing support@stardock.com This forum is customer support & I do not believe anyone can offer anymore help.
I use OD+ 1.9 & XP PRO SP2 & my system is working normally in a tabbed dock. I wonder if a Windows update or a program conflict is causing your issues. Wish I could help

I too just upgraded to 1.9 on a freshly installed Windows XP Pro system and cannot get the system tray working. Unfortunately I don't have my previous version install. Does anyone know how to get a copy of the v1.5 install? Is there a place on the download server? All I get in the email from Stardock when I request my registration information is a link that auto-downloads v1.9.

that's one reason using the Stardock Central browser is more than handy, it will archive the version you have prior to updating

Hi,

do you have some news on this issue as it seems, looking at the forums, that a lot of users are experiencing it?
Do we need to all send a mail to support@stardock.com or is it enough with the one you have?

Thanks in advance

hi all,

Any update on this issue? Am running english windows xp. After i install OD, the system tray tab does not work at all. I tried to restart my PC. After restart, it works. But it only works fine for about 30 mins. Then the tab suddenly becomes empty. After that, no matter what I have done, the tab remains empty.

Thought it might be a bug.

and I want this fixed! (how hard can it be)
