system tray

I was using the OD v1.5 so I update to the new version 1.9.
I have 2 problems:
1- The weather docklet (already in dicussion in other post)
2- I cant see any icon in the system tray tab. I hide the windows task bar so the system tray tab is realy important. Any sugestions for this bugs?

Are you using plus or free? The system tray is only available in the + version.

Are you using a 64bit OS? It's not there yet either.

Relenti,
Open Stardock Central and see if Tools > Settings > Enable MCP notification area support is checked and if it is uncheck it.

not in 64 bits

...one would hope not

Dig a little deeper into the settings .... it is working for me on both Vista and XP pro. I have a feeling it's just something you may not be doing correctly. Keep trying.

Look under "tabs & styles" and hit the "Add Tab" button ..in the choices that you see, choose "add a system tray tab" and you should see the new dock appear.

Well I´m sure about the OS, and I was using the OD for almost one year, and I has the system tray tab created already. So before the 1.9 version I still having the sistem tray tab but, without icons.
I already remove this tab and create another one again, but nothing happend.
I also have a problem with the search dock, It said the search docklet load failed. Please check you installation.
Any suggestions?

By the way where is the stardock central? I´m using only object docks and windows blinds. Where is the MCP??

If it worked before then you should have a Process in the taskmanager list called SDMCP.exe this was required by ObjectDock to display the System tray PRIOR to version 1.9 you might want to install Stardock Central and then use it uninstall Object Dock and re-install Object Dock.

Stardock Central is a browser/downloader/installer/archiver/etc

well, thanks for the support but I can solve any problem... yet
I unninstall the object dock with the unwise wich is in the object dock instalation folder and I moved this folder to another place. I rebooted the PC and install again the 1.9v OD. The previous settigs appears again (I don´t know where they are saved) and the search, weather and the system tray bugs are there again.
I´ll install this central, and I´ll see whats going on, but I think that the best Ideas is dont waste my time (and money) and go back to the 1.5version. They are too many bugs in this version.... may be there´s something else?

Take a look in Troubleshooting Options on the General tab. Under System Tray & Taskbar you can temporarily disable OD's system tray ability.

In my opinion, this is badly described. Why the word 'temporarily' is there I don't know - it's permanent until unchecked. And it doesn't really say what it means.

The real problem here is that if OD has hidden the system tray, and then goes walkabout, it is impossible to 'temporarily' disable the system tray hiding.

Hi, iam from Czech republik! Ao excuse my English- I dont speak really well.

I have the same problems as relenti. I install 1.9v OD and i want replace windows taskbar by OD systems tray. So I create new docks. in objectdock properties -> Dock contens i was checked "display systems tray icons along with my icons". Ive been thinking that OD system tray show me open windows and open apps running at background (icons beside windows hours). Unfortunately, nothing happens. In OD systems tray has show up open windows, but no one of icon beside hours.

So, i came to this forum. Please.give me something. I want really replace windows task bar.

EDIT: And i dont checked in troubleshooting "temporarily disable OD's system tray ability
"

I give up, at least for the moment, they are so many bugs in this new version that I decided to get back to the 1.5v
May be one of the problems with the system tray tab, is when the windows is not in english version (like mine or like in the czech guy), so may be some address is wrong there. The weather.... well why change weather.com if it was working flawlessly?
May be I should wait for a new unbugy version or some stardock support...
By the way thank for all you guys from the forum for the support, I realy preciate this!

Bugs do not necessarily mean the program has been pirated.

I really wish people wouldn't immediately reach to the "It must be illegal!" response whenever users have weird app behaviors.

Unless you absolutely know/can identify someone using a pirated copy, please do NOT accuse them of it.

Is there anybody else here using, without this issue, OD+ 1.9 system tray with a Windows version which is not in english?

It would be nice to hear from them.

It is also disturbing to listen someone accusing the other of piracy just because it leaves outside USA (or wherever his country is).

Hi all - I got OD+ 1.9 on Vista and the tray feature doesn't work - though I did get the weather thing (for Australia) working with a bit of patience. I have tried disabling the service that another thread suggested might help - but it didn't.

This may interest those of you outside the USA: my system is set up for Australian English (which is mostly, just with more swearing). I had another totally unrelated application that was also failing for all users outside the USA... you do the math, as they say.

Since this is mainly a customer supporting customer support forums it may be a great idea to email stardock@support.com Make sure that you put OD plus version 1.9 in the subject line. If this is specific to the language used then the support dept should be sent an e-mail

after enabling Enable MCP notification area support
are the icons in the system tray tab suppose to appear automatically

If your using version 1.9 you don't need sdmcp.exe It handles the tray internally. Based on comments I'm seeing on the board, I think there is a systray problem with non-english language computers in version 1.9
