WB and Paint Shop Pro and Vista

Hi folksI f I run any skin other than Windows Aero and I try to run Paint Shop Pro X from Corel Paint Shop Pro fails to run. I have tried this on two different machines runnning Vista Home Premium edition. I do not use Paint Shop Pro that much so I just have to Remember to go over to the Windows Aero skin to use it. Is any one going to be doing skins like Windows Areo?

Hmmm, I use PSP on Vista Ultimate and everything works fine. Maybe a graphics driver problem?

I use Paint Shop Pro 9 on Vista Ultimate and everything works fine. Only change visual from aero to basic.

It happens on both my laptop and my home machine if I use another skin other than Windows Areo Paint Shop Pro will not run the laptop has Nivida drivers for 1 6150 intergrated video chip. My home machine is an ATI X1800xt with latest drivers. Yes mine goes back to Basic when I run paint Shop Pro but agin I can only run Pro when the Skin called Windows Areo is installed

Have you installed all the latest Vista updates? Last weeks updates included an application compatibility update. It includes a list of over 70 program fixes that were causing various issues with Vista.

Are you using the latest updates for PSP from Corel? The current PSP Photo is X1 version 11.20. I remember hearing about problems with version X and Vista -- but I'm not sure about that. I'm using PSP Photo XI, Vista Ultimate 32-bit and WB 5.5 without any problems at all.

I tried installing patch but Paint Shop Pro X would hang when loading libaries.I just purchased XI so I will see how that works it has the Vista Logo

I got an e-mail recenlty from Corel saying only XI would be supported with Vista, so upgrading was probably a good solution.

As far as I'm concerned, PSP X installed from scratch works "fine" (well, you go back to Vista basic), but when it scans the net and detects the update for this version on the Corel site, and download it, then it doesn't start anymore (stuck at startup).

Therefore I'd say PSP X works on Vista, but once patched, you can uninstall it right away.

My 2 cents (well, 2 Euro cents, so that's worth roughly 3 US cents, which is not that bad...)

Every thing now works fine after upgrading to Paint Shopro XI
