News/Sports Desktop Alerts

I have been around googling I can't find anything that good. I am looking for a Desktop Alert program that tells you news in either. Anyone know of any good programs? Or anything? I would greatly appreciate it.

There are literally hundreds of programs which handle RSS feeds. For Sports Tickers the list is a bit shorter. My favorites run on Konfabulator (the Yahoo Widget Engine). The RSS Ticker Tape lets you set it to any News services you want and is highly configurable. The Mini Sports Ticker is my favorite for Sports. You can find them both HERE

Desktop Alert


You can get this from ESPN and other news services have them as well but to my knowledge they ALL are subscription services. By that I mean pay services.

Yea, not a huge fan of the paying thing    But I don't really like widgets due to the desktopX and it uploads my last desktop. I have changed from it. Just looking for a News + Sports program.
