Last year, the Weber State Wildcats (yeah, that's-a my school, peoples) had the WORST record in the entire conference. (We're in the Big Sky.) This is not surprising; we're a commuter school, with an inordinate amount of nontraditional students. (Almost more than we have traditional students.)
But this year, we got a new head coach, Randy Rahe. And he's turned our horrible season last year, worst in the conference, into the BEST in the conference. Yeah, we're number one. So we've had the opportunity to host the conference finals. So Portland State, Northern Arizona, and Montana all came here for the week.
And last night was the semifinal.
And we won.
77-74 against Portland State.
It was an ugly game; we almost lost, and were only shooting 40.4 percent from the field. Ugly.
But we won. That's what matters.
Tonight, the final game will be played betwen the Wildcats and Northern Arizona. And I sure hope we win.
