I got invaded and wasn't at war before OR after

(this is not "War wasn't reported". I wasn't at war even after the invasion.)

Hi guys,

I got two new bugs.

I'm playing DL still, vs 1.4 something, (whatever the latest is).

Firstly, the invasion, this was strange.

The Terrans and Torrians where attacking the Krox (I paid them to do so). The Terrans had 3 invasion ships headed to the last planet, the capital. Before they got there, the Krox surrendered to me. The Terran ships stopped moving, and just hung out in dead space near the old Krox capital.

Now, about two months latter, the Torrians declared war on the Terrans, again paid to do so by me). The first Terran turn after the war was declared, those Terran Transports, continued on their old mission, to the old capital of Krox, that I now owned. I was absolutely not at war with the Terrans. They invaded the next turn, Luckily, as a capital, it was well stocked for troops, and I had a huge tech advantage, so i successfully defended the planet three times.

I was surprised, because never before had i been attacked to start a war, the AI had always previously declared war and attacked a turn latter.

I was further surprised to find when I tried to retaliate, the window popped up that says what I was about to do would start a war and did i really want to continue. I said no, and checked the treaties, and sure enough, there was no state of war between myself and the Terrans.

What gives? Since when does invading with 3000 troops and killing 7000 of my citizens not count as a declaration of war?!?!

Missing war or surrender messages was a known issue with 1.4. This should be fixed in the 1.5 update for DL currently on SDC.

But this is diffent.

It wasn't the message I was missing, I wasn't at war period.

I wasn't at war before or after I was invaded.

Sure that's different from simply not being notified?

Just to be clear.

What I think is a bug is that one peaceful civ invaded the planet of another peaceful civ, WITHOUT a STATE of war existing at any point.

I'm not saying that it wasn't reported, I'm saying it didn't exists, before or after the invasion.

I did get a message that the Krox surrendered to me.

Although I didn't get a message that the Terrans were at war with me, this is probably due to the fact that they weren't at any point.

In any case, please make sure you're updated to the latest version available before reporting bugs (in case they've already been fixed).

I have edited the title of post to reflect this.

I had the same thing happen to a recent DA game. One of my planets was invaded with no war, the invasion succeeded (it was a PQ1 world, so I didn't really care), and when I checked diplomacy the invading race was not at war with me.

Very strange.

Well, first off, it is Korx - not Krox.

I have been invaded on the turn that war is declared several times. It does not happen all that often, but it is certainly not unheard of. If they have a transport close enough to an undefended planet it is much more likely.

Maybe they just got tired of fighting your wars for you and thought to teach you a lesson?

Read the posts Moosetek13. He's saying that a state of war did not exist before or after the invasion.
