No responce, 2 DAYS!!!!!

I had sent an email about this a few days ago to support, got a reply that same day and nothing since. So I figured I'd post here.

Heres my problem. A few days ago I checked SDC and noticed their was a new version of Windowblinds 5.50 available. I installed it naturally because I figured hey, must be some bug fixes right? WRONG! It turns out that it was labled 5.50 but was really 5.10. So I uninstalled it, 5.10 is useless for me because I am on Vista.

So I check back a few hours later and there is a REAL new beta released, 5.49t - I installed it, after it installs it goes to activate like normal and I get an Error Code 6. I tried this a few times and decided to try it manually. Upon putting in my email and OD Serial I got the error "Activation Limit Reached". I followed up by sending an email to support, the support guy told me to try entering it manually (which already had been done) or try offline activation. So I got the offline activation code, replied telling him that doing manual activation failed and pasted in the offline activation code. Its now been 2 days with no responce.

I checked SDC for the hell of it and that mislabed 5.10 (labeled 5.50) showed itself yet again, I have a screenshot of it here: http://www.osirisgfx.com/astyanax/mislabeled.jpg

This mislabeled 5.10 build disappeared later in the evening yesterday.

You don't say anything about what happened after you pasted it in, which kind of implies 'copacetic' which in turn confuses when I read the next part:

Whats to get confused about? He replied the same day, told me to do a manual activation and if it didnt work he linked me to an offline activation guide. So I tried it manually once more, IT FAILED, I proceeded in following the steps and got the activation code. I responded in telling him that it did not work along with the offline activation code and I havent had a responce in 2 days.

Well its cleared up now, arguing over something thats now cleared up does not solve my problem.

Does that mean your product is now activated OK...or does it just mean the wording in your problem history is cleared up....

I think he's trying to say  downloading the wrong version is cleared up but the activation problem is still there.

This wouldn't be because if my recent IP change would it? I had some connection problems a few days ago and I changed the mac address on my router to get a whole new assignment, it fixed my connection problem but uhm, it isnt *blocked* by any chance is it?

You shouldn't have any trouble activating unless you've activated many times in a small amount of time. Hmmm..

Well twice in one day, and once a few days before(5.49s i believe) - Twice in one day due to the false labled 5.50 and tried 5.49t but thats when it started giving me Error 6. It gave me Error 0 a few times today, then went back to Error 6 after disabling then re-enabling my Firewall.


Should I just wait till friday then try again?

You may be right about me being locked out, I just installed and activated the Iconpackager beta for vista without any problems.

That's a possible....when the SD crew are online later tonight [my time] I'll point them to this....if it's an activation reset issue.  [I'm not sure of the timeout/frequency/number that trips it]...

Astyanax0: I am not sure what exactly happened, but there was probably some kind of confusion. When you get an Error 6 activating, all you really need is for your activation count to be reset.  Through normal use, you would not even get near the limit, but if you do a lot of formatting and/or lose the sig.bin (license) file a number of times, you will need to reactivate. I have reset your activation count.

I apologize for the trouble, but you should be good to go at this point.

To anyone encountering an Activation ERROR 6 in the future, just shoot an email to support@stardock.com with a request to reset your activation count and we'll get you taken care of promptly
