Future plans for modability?

Is that a word? Did I spell it right? Can we mod the english word?

I'm curious, does Stardock have any plans to expand the ability to mod things in game? For example allowing the ability to add weapons and shields to a hull default like you can for sensors and life support? Or maybe allowing the creation of weapons with two damage types?

I have a few ideas for a mod, but looking over everything there really isn't anything major gameplay wise you can add or change. The duel weapons is something I'd really like to see personally. Have a mod with Energy/Missle "Photon Torpedos", all weapons being duel tech.

Also is stealth, vampire, wraith etc from the english.str file going to be added in a future patch? Or Expansion? Or is it strictly for a new Galciv game down the road?

I can't say as to what the devs may plan for the future, but those are just leftover vestiges from GC1/AP.

It would be nice to be able to mod in new things. Currently, there is no way to create a starbase module that would increase the starbase hit points. The tools for doing such a thing does not exist at this point in time.

IYep I agree DivineWrath, the starbases was another thing I wanted to change. I'd like to have starbases improve HP based on how many modules get installed. I don't want invincable stations after one constructer, but I also don't want bases with 6 mods getting destroyed after one round of combat.

The starbases gain their hitpoints based on which hull is specified in GC2Ships.xml.
So you could mod it to use a huge hull instead of the large, or create a new hull with more hp.
