Can it be changed?
I don't like apps putting their settings folders and such in the My Documents folder. Makes hard to organize the folder neatly.

First you need to download backgrounds from the ObjectDock gallery ...to easily find backgrounds ...when you are in the gallery.... type in backgrounds in the search field located in the upper right hand corner of that page.

Unzip these to your background folder found in My Documents Object Desktop

Then open the configuration icon on your desktop ( you can also just rightclick on the dock & select Dock Settings) & select Appearance ...click on the arrow and select the background you like..You will also be able to change the color

See reply # 5 by Bebi and click on installing docklets....also remember to include everything that you unzipped into..... the docklet folder found in C programs Stardock ObjectDock These files need to be put there in order to access the program files

How about Thomassen's question? How do you move the ObjectDock Library BACK to the application folder where it used to be. "My Documents" is for MY documments, not the application's.

I guess some people may like it that way but it should at least be an option. I tried moving it but it recreated itself.

Still no answer from stardock associates till today, what a shame :( even if you buy their software, you will still not receive answers to questions based on the softwares you buy.

Even though it has been three years since last post, I still want an answer reply ASAP.

To answer the original poster...the folders for ObjectDock in "My Documents" can just be deleted. Basically they were created for use with the .dockzip format which would autoinstall everything from backgrounds to tiles. But very few people including myself do not use the .dockzip format because I as well as others don't want these extra folders in "My Documents."

The original location for the backgrounds..tiles and side docks is in C://Programs/Stardock/ObjectDock/backgrounds. Everything can be placed in there and work just fine. Another reason for keeping them there is so you get full use of custom Plus/Minus images that are used with tabbed docks. ;)
