Mega event strangeness

I was playing a game as a custom race with mega events on. First the Korath got the mega event were they receive powers from an artifact and get progressively stronger as the game goes on. This wasn’t good as they already had the strongest military by that point. Things were further complicated by the Peacekeeper mega event. This event occurred on one of my planets and naturally, the Peacekeepers made short work of every races’ military except for two factions. Me and the Korath. For some reason they never attacked either of us and a few turns into the event I received a message from the peacekeepers asking me for help from one of the races they had just finished trashing which I found most humorous. I am just wondering if this is a bug or if the peacekeepers attack only those who are at war the moment the event kicks in?

On a side note, in another game I was playing the precursor terraforming wave event happened twice. First it created a bunch of 14 quality planets and a few turns latter it happened again on the other side of the map and created a bunch of 11 quality planets. Being a human, I manage to get the most planets before the AI had time to react. Mega events are cool.

Only the peacekeeper event is a mega event. The other two events you mention have been around since galciv1. Although i believe the 'progressivly more powerful' event has been tweaked to be a little more significant.

I remember getting the Torians getting the power artifact toward the end of a game where I was on the path to a tech victory. I wondered what it was supposed to do, since it hardly caused a blip on the power graphs, and many turns after aquiring it the Torians were hardly any more powerful than before.

There's both a standard version and a mega version of the increasing power event. In the former, only one ability increases each turn. In the latter, ALL of them do.
