Just had to say it: the mod support in this game is wonderful. If wanton praise isn't interesting to you (the reader), ignoring this post is advised.
Previously, I held off on getting higher level mining starbase modules because getting them meant getting really high-maintenance factories that all my nice cheap ones would automatically upgrade into.
So I just split the factory research tree into two groups, "Conventional Industry" and "Starbase Industry", fiddled with the tech costs a bit, and poof, it works. And the tech tree visualization even adapts to the mod without so much as a hiccup.
Then I made some "Self-Maintaining Industry" techs as an alternative low-yield high-cost no-maintenance line, but I won't get into that
Sure, I can't play metaverse that way, but that's the only feasible way of dealing with the balance impact of mods (a high-score board doesn't mean much if we're playing different games).
Great job, Stardock!
