programs not opening whith windowblinds

hi
im a n00b
ive been using windowblinds for the past few years but with recent windowblinds versions some of my older programs have stopped opening while windowblinds is loaded. ive tried uninstalling windowblinds and reinstalling older versions but the problem seems to be with newer windowblinds skins.
the older skins seem to allow me to open the programs no problem but the newer skins do not. when i click on a programs icon nothing happens. i can immediately place my skins back to windows xp or classic and the programs will open.
any idea what might be causing this?
thanks in advance.

no i have the demos of windowblinds and the programs that have stopped opening are corel draw and photopaint and the other programs from draw version 10. i began having difficulty with new skins in the corel programs first with command boxes inside the programs not responding. now with the latest windowblinds and/or the newer skins they will not open at all.
i have also had the same difficulty with visual styles that i convert in skin studio. same problem occurs- load the skin, click on the corel icon or go to my start up menu and click to open. also going into the individual folder to click on the file- same results.

One way around is to add the problematic programs to your exclusion list in Windowblinds settings under "change the look of a particular application".

I had a similar problem with online poker. The screen would lock up and I finally figured out that disabling windowblinds fixed it.

These are "trial" versions of WindowBlinds and I would hope after the "past few years" of "trial" you would consider purchasing the program.

thank you i will try excluding those programs for now.

Wavelab 6 has to be excluded from WB. Otherwise it doesn't work.

I believe the wavelab issue should be resolved with the next update of WB which should hopefully go up later today.

Hi! I have been having the same problems with my paid and newly updated version of Windowblinds 5. Several programs refuse to open or open sporadically upon reboot. I also have a problem with programs that I minimize to the task bar freezing there, including internet explorer. I am running Windows XP with IE 7 and all sub-programs updated to the latest versions (media player 11, adobe reader 8, flash 9, java 1.6, etc.). I have 1 GB of memory on a HP Compaq Presario desktop pc. The programs I'm having problems with are Picasa, Comodo firewall, Windows Media Player. I have scanned and rescanned for viruses both online and off with no resulting infections.
If this is a problem with the latest version of Windowblinds and/or newer skins I hope the issue will be resolved as I love my Windowblinds program and would hate to have to disable it permanently. Does this have something to do with the compatibility updates for Windows Vista? If so I think Stardock has really jumped the gun as I would bet money that it will take a while for people to fork out money for Microsoft's newest addition. Especially as, from what I've read, the best feaures of Vista are not available on it's Home Edition.

It sounds like your problems are being caused by a some sort of conflict between WB and something new you added to your PC.

The Vista support has had no impact on the XP support.
