Virtual Desktops won't change wallpapers

I have used Virtual desktops for quite a long time with no problems.  Now, though, I am not able to get them to change wallpapers as I toggle through them.  They stay the same one.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it might work for a short while and then reverts back.  Can anyone help me please!   Thanks......

do you have web items locked on the desktop?

I have also noticed a similar problem with Virtual Desktops. I run Webshots Desktop, which changes my wallpaper at regular intervals, but VD doesn't pick up on the updates. What I do if I want the update is to bring up Configure Virtual Desktops and hit OK.

Just formulating this reply got me to thinking about another irritating problem with the "new and improved" Virtual Desktops - not updating the window replicas to reflect what's going on in each VD. THAT gets updated by the same technique! So there's something missing in the current Virtual Desktops, in my opinion.

I am currently suffering from another even more irritating bug. I've been doing a LOT of work with Nero - ripping and burning audio CDs. The ripping or burning part of Nero is in one VD, and subsidiary applications are in others (AMG, CATraxx, Jazz Discography, etc). Every now and again, but rather to often, when I try to switch to the Nero VD, The application I'm switching FROM gets moved to the Nero VD and Nero disappears from view. It's apparently not on any of my VDs. But running Retrieve All Windows or Recover Lost Windows finds it, with the result that all my 5 VDs have been collected into one, and I have to spend a little time moving the various applications to where I originally put them, and where I want them.

I have been for many years a VERY heavy user of Virtual Desktops - it has pretty well been the one application in the suite which makes it all worth while, and I find trying to run without it is a real pain.
