suggestions

Dear developers,

I know you're all busy. Can I make 2 suggestions:

(1) a hangar on the different planets that allows ships to be slotted in (and the ship being built relegated to next item on the list) to be upgraded (taking multiple turns to complete instead of sending the player bankrupt with a single turn upgrade.

(2) scanners to determine presence of planet bonuses

If there is already a survey module, why not use that to scan planets? In fact, you should only know a planet's PQ after "surveying" it from orbit. That'd be another use for the survey module, besides finding villages in anomalies that is

Financing for ship upgrades is based on a capitalistic economic system--you get a discount on the upgrade price for cash up front. Otherwise you have different financing terms where a down payment is made, and then regular weekly payments for a certain number of months. Of course, financing charges add to the net cost of the upgrade.

If you have a robust economy, ship upgrades won't bankrupt you unless you try to upgrade all ships in a class where you have large numbers to upgrade. Many times I end up upgrading a few ships per turn and prioritize my upgrades based on need. That is part of the strategic aspect of this game.
