Windowblinds hanging badly

I'm having problems with Windowblinds that when I switch skins at all it either freezes up completely or the new style (esp. the titlebar of windows) is incorrectly rendered. The titlebar either goes invisible or is rendered in Windows Classic style. Usually if I reboot my system then the selected skin comes up OK afterwards, but obviously having to reboot each time isn't desirable.

System info is as follows...

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 5 (5.5 (build 84 x86))

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

You have one monitor in total.

(Dell 2001FP (Digital)) 1 is attached to Radeon X1950 Series

Wbconfig.exe 2006/12/20 13:35:02
Wbload.exe 2006/03/13 17:54:14
Wbhelp.dll 2004/09/18 16:37:07
Wbui.dll 2005/12/06 21:29:06
Tray.dll 2006/04/28 18:26:49

I also tried checking the box in the WB Config panel marked if you're suffering problems with title bars and that made no difference.

The same problem also happened with the proper version 5 build I originally purchased. The install of XP i'm using was done less than two weeks ago so its pretty fresh. Any thoughts?

Did you previously have the trial version installed before purchasing?

If so, did you uninstall the trial version completely before installing the purchased version?

I've been seeing this myself since Neil added Vista support. The skin your changing to seems to have some effect. I notice that changing to Ares for instance doesn't have the same effect. I change to Evolution and I usually have to reboot.

I should note that I just updated to the most recent build and haven't had it happen yet.

Ohh almost forgot.....I haven't had the trial installed since version 2

No, straight clean install of the full purchased 5.01 version. I then uninstalled this completely and replaced it with the beta (5.49e I think, or whatever was available on the day before my original post upthread). Same problems both times.

I've been experiencing Windowblinds iraticly freezing after changing skins. Haven't been able to determine if it's a paticuar skin. Happened this morning twice, yesterday twice, all different skins. It's very annoying and time consuming, because I have to shut-down windows abruptly.

I'll see WB occasionally fail to properly paint some elements when initially switching to a new skin, including the titlebar sometimes, but usually just reloading the skin will fix it. Can't remember when I've had to reboot to get a skin to work.

Its probably the ATi drivers, they always were a bit twitchy
