Activation Questions

After running a trial of Multiplicity using three test machines I was impressed enough with the product to make a purchase. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the requirement to activate the registered version over the Internet before I made that decision; I've already run into major activation headaches that might make using this software impossible for me.

I will be mainly using the software (when I'm not power gaming with it) in a test environment which is connected over an isolated subnet without Internet access. My primary system and secondary machines are reformatted with a clean install of different versions of Windows on a near weekly basis. The hard disk drives are often swapped out of the systems, but all of the remaining hardware in the machines remains constant.

I don't want to be stuck having to send out another e-mail every time these systems are refreshed - Synergy doesn't give me any of these headaches, but I do really like the route you're taking with Multiplicity and want to stick with it if I can.

With that in mind, I'd like to know if e-mail activation is my answer. If the activation information is based on the underlying hardware (such as the MAC address of the machine), can I simply reuse the same information whenever I need to reactivate on the same machine?

They will be able to assist.

Zubaz, thank you for your reply to my post.

While I can understand a delay of a few days occuring as a result of the holidays, I find it extremely discouraging that I have yet to receive a reply from Stardock even though I sent this same question to them via their official support mechanisms.

I'm also experiencing the same issues others have reported regarding Windows Vista support and issues with some games, and am anxiously awaiting word of the next release of this software (both for an estimate of when it will be ready and what fixes and new features that release will bring forth).

dig, did you get an automated reply? If not, your mail could have gotten filtered.

You can always go to https://www.stardock.helpserve.com and check the status of your case (if it was created).

Stardock support usually rocks. Let's consider this a bump.

Thanks for the bump

Try going through a manual activation process. This is ment for offline systems.  If you still have problems copy and paste the error message it kicks back to you along with the activation string in an email to me. I will try to run it from this end.

An activation string is a long serial number that starts like this: m=1&v=1&a1=D13A622050BB308A....

For activation trouble or activation for an offline system, please follow this guide:
